Bungie responds to player frustration over the Destiny 2 10th anniversary “Legend” title grind, promising an upcoming fix after widespread backlash.

Yesterday, Bungie released a small content update in Destiny 2 celebrating the franchise’s 10th anniversary. This update added a brand-new armor set called Veteran Legend, and a new Seal and Title for fans to unlock.

However, one particular triumph tied to the new “Legend” title sparked a lot of frustration among fans. The triumph called “Accidental Generosity” requires you to defeat enemies and collect engrams in the Skywatch, Cosmodrome while wearing the full set of the new Veteran Legend armor.

The first objective isn’t so bad, however, the problem lies with the second part which requires players to collect a certain number of engrams. Turns out, only the engrams dropped on the ground count towards the triumph objective, meaning any engrams you get from Public Events, chests, would not progress this triumph.

The Destiny 2 community didn’t hold back, voicing their frustration across social media platforms and forums, pointing out how much of a time-sink this single objective has become.

Bungie Promises Changes in Next Destiny 2 Update

The good news is that Bungie has taken notice. In a new post shared on the official Destiny 2 Team X (Twitter) account, the developers addressed the growing backlash, assuring fans that they’ve heard the feedback loud and clear.

“We’ve heard your feedback on the Skywatch Engrams and we are planning to boost enemy density in our next update,” Bungie said. “In the meantime, there are still several weeks left to earn access to the Legend Pin, and the Legend Title will be available until Codename: Apollo ships in 2025.”

While this update may alleviate some of the tedious grind, the core issue seems to lie more with the engram drop rates than enemy density. We’ll have to wait and see if the upcoming patch makes the process any smoother.

This also addresses concerns about how much time players have to unlock the new Legend title. As confirmed above, the new Legend title will remain available to unlock until the release of the first expansion in 2025, currently codenamed Apollo.
