Racing games have always been in our lives. These titles will always be one of the backbones of the industry. In recent years we have seen some racing games having an amazing experience for gamers such as F1. However, maybe the most known title is still Need For Speed. Need for Speed has been around for decades, the first game was released in 1994. Electronic Arts is still one of the biggest gaming companies in the world. Even though they were criticized more and more they still have a lot of big titles in their arsenal like Apex Legends. Need for Speed was developed by  Ghost Games for the past few years. However, even though they tried their best the game lost some players. EA just announced that Criterion will take over the series from Ghost Games.

Criterion’s best-known game is Burnout series. In fact, Burnout Paradise was so successful they even did a remastered version of the game. The game had an amazing open world and was quite an experience for gamers. Criterion Games taking over Need for Speed series is exciting news because they have a long line of experience with racing games. According to the news, there were some factors in this takeover. As Ghost Games was based in Sweden they were unable to recruit top developers, however, Criterion is based in England. Also, Need for Speed lost a lot of players to the Forza series they will try to reclaim their share of the market with this takeover.
