This weekend is the perfect time to get exotic class items in Destiny 2. With Xur selling new random-rolled items and double Nightfall rewards, here’s how to take full advantage.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to get those missing exotic class items rolls in Destiny 2, this weekend is your golden chance!
Bungie has created a perfect storm of events that makes it easier than ever to farm those items, and if you’re not jumping in right now, you might miss out. First off, if you’re not keeping up with the news, Xur has just started selling exotic class items with random rolls.
For a total of 41 Strange Coins, you can snag one randomly-rolled exotic class items from him. If you’re new to Destiny 2 or simply looking to fine-tune your build, these class items can be a game-changer.
However, the real kicker is how easy it is to farm those Strange Coins this weekend.
Destiny 2 Exotic Class Item Farm
This week, Bungie has activated double Nightfall rewards, meaning you’ll also earn double the Strange Coins in Grandmaster Nightfall. This is huge for players aiming to maximize their coin haul and purchase multiple exotics from Xur.
On top of that – there’s also an event going on in Destiny 2 this week, with heavy swords, which makes farming even easier. During this limited-time event, all heavy swords in the game come with regenerating ammo. That means unlimited swings, allowing you to mow down enemies with ease.
The important part is that the One Thousand Voices exotic fusion rifle is also benefiting from a bug that also gives it infinite ammo, and Bungie has graciously decided not to fix it until next Tuesday. They’ve even said, “Go have fun!”
Keep in mind that you need to do the Dual Destiny exotic mission at least once before you can purchase the exotic class items from Xur.
- Use in-game Fireteam Finder to find a fireteam and start farming the Insight Terminus Grandmaster Nightfall
- Use One Thousand Voices with infinite ammo for easy completions
- Use the Strange Coins to purchase Exotic Class Items from Xur
- Profit!
Note: If you have the Strange Favor buff active (buy from Xur), you’ll get even more Strange Coins on activity completions. For a complete breakdown of how many Strange Coins you can earn from each activity, check out our detailed table of Strange Coin drop rates in Destiny 2 here.
Of course, you can still get the exotic class items from Dual Destiny mission, which requires a fireteam of two. But if you’re a solo player, this is probably more efficient than farming Overthrow chests. Plus, you’ll stock up other materials and exotics too.
With all these factors combined, now is the best time to farm exotic class items. Speaking of exotic class items, Bungie has confirmed its plans to add highly-requested exotic class item attunement feature which will allow players to attune perks they want to farm, expected launch in Episode 2.
