A new Destiny 2 glitch makes Hunter’s Golden Gun a boss-melting machine with Super regeneration in seconds!
If you’ve been keeping up with Destiny 2, you probably know that Episode Revenant Act 2 launched this week on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. This latest update added new content, including the Tomb of Elders activity, new weapons, armor, and more.
But what really turned heads was a buff given to roaming Supers in PvE. The patch increased Super energy regeneration from combatant damage by three times and increased roaming Super damage against Champions by 30-55%, depending on the Super.
Sounds great, right? Well, it’s even better than you think. Why? Because there’s a glitch tied to the Hunter’s Golden Gun Super with the Celestial Nighthawk Exotic helmet.
While Bungie claimed this one-shot Super wasn’t supposed to benefit from the buff, it clearly does. Here’s how it works!
Destiny 2 Hunter’s Golden Gun with Celestial Nighthawk Glitch
With the new roaming Super buff, Golden Gun–with the Celestial Nighthawk exotic helmet–regenerates faster than ever in PvE. Combine this with the Outbreak Perfected Exotic pulse rifle, and you can recharge your Super in 20-30 seconds simply by firing at enemies.
This synergy allows you to get your Super back multiple times in a boss single damage phase. For example, in the new Vesper’s Host dungeon—where double loot is active until December 3rd—you can use this setup to one-phase the Corrupted Puppeteer boss with ease.
Setup:
While the setup is fairly simple, if you’re aiming to squeeze every ounce of power out of this glitch, here’s exactly what you’ll need:
- Weapons: Equip Outbreak Perfected. Its Nanite Swarms deal extra damage and help regenerate your Super even faster. Pair it with a grenade launcher for debuffing the target (VS Velocity Baton or any Grenade Launcher with Cascade Point).
- Mods:
- Font of Wisdom: Increases Intellect when you have Armor Charge.
- Triple Kinetic Surge: Boosts Outbreak Perfected’s damage.
- Kinetic Siphon: Generates orbs of power for faster Super regeneration.
- Time Dilation: Extends the duration of Armor Charge.
- Armor: Use Celestial Nighthawk for boosted Golden Gun damage.
- Subclass: Run Prismatic Hunter with Transcendence for extra weapon damage.

Bungie hasn’t patched this glitch yet, so take advantage of it while you can. In other Destiny 2 news, Bungie is giving out free god roll weapons as an apology for the perk weighting glitch that players discovered.
