A new Destiny 2 glitch has been found that lets players get unlimited Special Ammo in Episode Heresy.
Destiny 2’s latest update, Episode Heresy, dropped last week, bringing a ton of new content for players to explore. This episode brought back the iconic Dreadnaught destination from The Taken King which originally debuted in 2015.
Players can now check out the brand-new seasonal activity, The Nether, unlock new seasonal weapons, and take on the highly anticipated Sundered Doctrine dungeon, which launched last Friday.
The dungeon brings new weapons, armor, and secrets for players to unlock. But while everyone’s busy grinding this new dungeon, some players have discovered a game-breaking ammo glitch that lets you rack up infinite Special Ammo, and it’s surprisingly easy to pull off.
Destiny 2 Infinite Special Ammo Glitch
Shortly after the update, a Destiny 2 player on YouTube named Skipper found a glitch that lets players generate infinite Special Ammo with the right setup. While Bungie hasn’t commented on it yet, this exploit is gaining traction, and it’s only a matter of time before it gets patched. If you want to try it out, here’s everything you need to know.
How it works: You need two identical loadouts with only one difference, the mods on your Chest armor.
- One loadout should have no Reserves mods.
- The other loadout should have three Reserves mods that match your Special weapon’s element (Void Reserves for Void weapons, Arc Reserves for Arc weapons, etc.).
- It appears this exploit only works for Special weapons, not Heavy weapons.
By swapping between these loadouts, you can generate infinite Special Ammo, making encounters way easier than intended.
Check out the step-by-step guide on how to pull it off below!
- Equip a Special weapon of your choice.
- Ensure you have two loadouts—one with three Reserves mods, the other with no Reserves mods.
- Switch to a different Special weapon.
- Load the three Reserves mod setup.
- Swap back to the no-Reserves mod loadout.
- Enjoy your unlimited Special Ammo!

As mentioned above, Bungie hasn’t officially addressed this glitch, but knowing its track record, the developer will likely disable the mod soon. If you want to take advantage of it, now’s the time before it’s gone.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking for more loot, Sundered Doctrine’s dungeon has brought new weapons to the mix. You can check out the full loot table here.
