Destiny 2’s 10th Anniversary update added the new ‘Legend’ title, but players are frustrated by the slow Skywatch engram grind.

Earlier today, Bungie revealed exciting new details about the future of Destiny 2, outlining the new content model for the game and offering a glimpse into the next “multiyear saga” set to begin next year.

Alongside these big reveals, Bungie also dropped a small in-game update to celebrate the franchise’s 10th anniversary, giving fans even more reason to jump back in.

The event added new Veteran Legend armor sets for each class and an Ace of Spades Nerf replica. However, there’s one addition that’s causing a major headache for players—the new “Legend” Seal and Title grind.

Destiny 2 Legend Title: “Accidental Generosity” Triumph

At the heart of the frustration is a specific triumph required to earn the “Legend” title. The triumph is called “Accidental Generosity” and it requires you to “Defeat combatants and loot engrams in Skywatch on Cosmodrome while wearing the full set of Veteran Legend Armor or Ornaments.”

The first part—defeating enemies—isn’t much of a challenge. The real frustration comes with getting the engrams to drop, each giving around 7% progress. Players are finding that the drop rate is painfully slow, and RNG isn’t doing anyone any favors.

Players noticed that only the engrams that are dropping on the ground are counted towards this objective. Below is the list of all the engram sources that do not count towards the objective, per Reddit user uCodeSherpa.

  • Grasp of Avarice
  • Battleground: Foothold rewards chest
  • Strike rewards chests
  • Public Events
  • Any random chests in the area
  • Mini-boss chests

Shortly after the event went live, players took to social media platforms like Reddit, X (Twitter), and the official Bungie Forums, to voice their frustrations. One user wrote, “I’m an hour into it so far. ONE….ONE engram. 7%? Great job Bungie.”

Another user, CipherXR, voiced their annoyance with the slow progress, stating: “I’ve had no engrams drop over the past hour. I can’t Bungie, please.”

“It wouldn’t be a true celebration of Destiny for 10 years if there wasn’t one piece of the title giving you a taste of ‘trying to get gjally to drop in D1’,” Reddit user BogeyBogeyBogey replied.

The randomness of the engram drops isn’t helping either. zeuxxify posted, “I really want this title but I can’t justify sitting in skywatch for 6 hours hoping RNG blesses me with an engram.

Many players are hoping Bungie will address and adjust the grind, but so far, there’s been no official response. What are your thoughts on this? Have you managed to unlock the new “Legend” title in Destiny 2? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
