Destiny Rising just got a major update at the NetEase 520 Conference, with the first official look at dual-wielding weapons, new voice lines, and a peek at never-before-seen characters in its latest trailer.

After months of silence, Destiny Rising fans finally have something new to talk about. Destiny Rising, the mobile spin-off set in an alternate timeline of the Destiny universe, is being developed by NetEase Games in partnership with Bungie.

The game was first announced last year, launching a Closed Alpha in the U.S. and Canada that gave players an early look at its campaign, familiar faces like Ikora Rey, new Lightbearers, and even fan-favorite modes like Sparrow Racing. But since that test ended in December 2024, things have been quiet—until now.

This week, the annual NetEase 520 Conference 2025 event was livestreamed on platforms like BiliBili, with the Destiny community tuning in for any news after months of waiting. As expected, NetEase dropped a new trailer for Destiny Rising.

New Destiny: Rising Trailer Brings Dual Wielding, Voice Lines, and More

The updated Destiny Rising trailer shown during the NetEase 520 Conference finally revealed something fans had been hoping to see: dual-wielding weapons. For the first time, we got to see playable characters running and gunning with akimbo sidearms, just like the leaks had suggested a couple of weeks ago.

This new version of the trailer also features full voice lines for several characters, something that was missing from the original trailer released last year.

On top of that, sharp-eyed viewers noticed some brand-new characters popping up throughout the trailer. There’s still no word on who they are or what abilities they might have, but it looks like Destiny Rising is planning to expand its roster even more when the game gets closer to launch.

It’s worth noting that NetEase is keeping a lot under wraps for now, but this latest trailer is easily the most exciting update we’ve had since the Alpha ended last year. There’s still no firm release date or public beta announcement, but after this week’s showcase, it’s clear Destiny Rising is very much alive and moving forward.

Update, May 20, 6:45 AM PT: NetEase has officially announced the first Closed Beta Test for Destiny Rising. For more details, check out our article here.
