Looking for the fastest way to get intel points in Dune Awakening? Here’s the ultimate guide covering how Intel works, the best farming locations, and every spot marked on the map.
Dune Awakening has officially been released. The highly anticipated survival MMO from Funcom throws you straight onto Arrakis, a planet where every day is a fight for survival. This game is all about progression, building up your base, and unlocking new gear and abilities.
One of the biggest parts of getting ahead in Dune Awakening is collecting Intel Points. These are what you’ll use to unlock new items, gear upgrades, and better base parts through the research tree. In this article, we’ll break down exactly how Intel works, the best ways to get it, and show you every Intel location.
How Intel Points Work in Dune Awakening
Intel is your ticket to unlocking new stuff in the game. You use it to progress through the research tree, which lets you upgrade your base, get better equipment, and open up new playstyles. But it’s not about just collecting Intel and sitting on it, you need to actually spend it to keep progressing.
You can get intel in two main ways: by picking up green holograms found at Outposts, or by leveling up your character. The higher your level, the more Intel you get for each level up. In the early stages, you’ll get a few Intel Points per level, but this ramps up as you get stronger. Most players focus on grabbing holograms at every opportunity, as these are the fastest way to boost your total.
Whenever you want to see how much Intel you’ve got, just open your research menu. But keep in mind, only the Intel you’ve spent counts toward unlocking new tiers in the research tree. Your banked intel won’t do anything for you unless you use it.
Best Ways to Get Intel Points Fast
The real secret to getting ahead is knowing where to look. Always start by probing each new region. This reveals every Outpost and lab in that area, so you don’t waste time wandering. Hover over each spot on your map. If you see “Intel 0/1,” there’s Intel waiting for you. If you don’t see Intel listed, that Outpost won’t have any for you to pick up.
Once you know where the Outpost and labs are, go for the ones with the highest intel rewards first. Some areas on the map give more intel per pickup than others, so hitting the right spots makes a huge difference. Don’t forget, a lot of labs reset every week, so you can keep coming back for more intel even after you’ve cleared them once.
Remember, you can skip the Outpost in the low-level regions if you want. Focus on the high-reward areas to unlock everything faster. Keep spending your intel as you go to unlock new research tiers and open up better upgrades.
All Intel Points Locations in Dune Awakening
There are a total of 76 Intel locations marked on the map below. These are spread across different regions, with each area offering a different amount of intel for every Outpost you clear. (thanks, IIEKKO, for this info.)
- Hagga Basin South: 3 Intel per Outpost (great for early-game)
- Vermillus Gap: 5 Intel per Outpost
- Jabel Eifrit or Hagga Rift: 10 Intel per Outpost
- Shield Wall, The O’odham, The Sheol: 20 Intel per Outpost
- Deep Desert (PvE): 30 Intel per Lab
- Deep Desert (PvP): 40 Intel per Lab
Every intel spot counts, especially once you get into the higher-tier regions. Some of the best farming comes from the Deep Desert and the weekly reset labs in Shield Wall.
On the map below, you’ll find all 74 intel point locations clearly marked.
