Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate is less than two weeks away, launching on July 15, 2025. This expansion will kick off the start of Year 8. Similar to previous annual expansions, Bungie is adding a bunch of new exotic weapons and armor.
We now also have the full list of all the major sandbox updates coming in the Edge of Fate. This includes a long list of exotic weapon and armor rebalances, and updates to abilities. What’s Leaving Destiny 2 With Edge of Fate? DCV Update
You can check out the full list of content being removed below. All of this will be vaulted starting July 15, 2025, when the new expansion goes live.
Destinations Being Vaulted
These locations will no longer be accessible:
- H.E.L.M.
- Market District
- Market District: Jail
- Tonic Laboratory
- Variisis Core
- Eris’s Flat
- Noiseless Chantry
- Eternity: IX Realm
Seasonal Story Going Away
The following seasonal storylines and episodes are being removed:
- Episode: Echoes
- Episode: Revenant
- Episode: Heresy
- The Rite of the Nine
Activities Getting Removed
The list of vaulted activities is a long one:
- Arena: Breach Executable
- Enigma Protocol
- Battleground: Echoes
- Onslaught: Salvation
- Tomb / Contest of Elders
- Kell’s Vengeance
- The Nether
- Court of Blades
- Arenas: Something Left to Say and Captive Memories
Quest Missions:
- Meteoric
- Shell
- Espial
- Recce
- Captis
Exotic Quests Being Vaulted
These exotic quests will be removed completely. In-progress quests will be wiped, but Bungie says the weapons may return through other means in the future.

Inventory Items & Systems Going Away
Here’s a list of things that will either disappear or lose all value:
- All bounties, quests, engrams, seasonal heirlooms, and artifacts from:
- Episode: Echoes
- Episode: Revenant
- Episode: Heresy
- The Rite of the Nine
- Ritual and Pinnacle Weapons from Tower vendors (will move to the Monument to Lost Lights)
- Tower vendor reputation tracks
- Trials of Osiris bounties
- Gunsmith bounties and engrams
- Ritual activity engrams
Mods and Materials:
- Ghost Mods: Prism Harvest, Modularity, Prosperity
- Episode: Heresy minor boons
- Destination Materials (no longer usable)
- Upgrade Modules (can still drop, but safe to dismantle)
Other Items Getting Wiped:

- Tonic Capsule + all variations
- Tome of Want / Scriptures
- Metastasized Essentia
