Resident Evil 9 insider has revealed some more details about the game, debunking previous rumors.
Resident Evil 9 has been a hot topic for months now, even though Capcom has remained tight-lipped about the game. With only whispers, fans have been eagerly speculating and dissecting every potential hint or rumor. From theories about returning characters to wild ideas about new gameplay mechanics, the lack of official details has left the door wide open for all sorts of speculation.
Over the past few months, rumors have surfaced about potential settings, gameplay elements, and even mysterious playtests involving some of the iconic characters. One of the most talked-about leaks involved Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy, but not everything may be as it seems.

Insider Clears the Air on Resident Evil 9 Rumors
Recently, an insider known as Dusk Golem, who has a strong track record of sharing accurate information about Resident Evil and Silent Hill games, shared new details about Resident Evil 9. Dusk took to their personal X (Twitter) profile to clarify a few things and, in the process, crushed some of the previous rumors about the game.
First, let’s revisit the original rumor. According to earlier leaks shared by the Residence of Evil YouTube channel, Jill Valentine was said to play a central role in Resident Evil 9, exploring an abandoned hospital on a mysterious island filled with infected residents and a terrifying creature known as the Goatman.
Another rumor suggested Leon Kennedy would have his own storyline in a dense forest near Mr. Simon’s laboratory. Leon’s mission was to track down Mr. Simon, who appears to be involved in creating cloned bioweapons of Eveline.
However, Dusk Golem says these rumors are far from the truth. In a post shared on X, Dusk stated that Jill Valentine’s involvement in the game is minimal at best, adding that the hospital storyline is completely fabricated. Dusk’s exact words were: “Jill doesn’t play any major role in RE9 unfortunately. This current hospital rumor floating around is 100% bullsh*t. Crushing the Jill hopium now before wrong expectations are set.”
They also emphasized that almost every other rumor about Resident Evil 9 circulating online has been inaccurate. This might be disappointing for a lot of fans as many were hoping to finally see Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy team up as playable characters in the next mainline Resident Evil game.
It’s worth noting that until Capcom officially confirms anything, these details should still be taken with a grain of salt. Rumors and leaks often paint an incomplete or entirely incorrect picture, so it’s best to manage expectations.
