Here’s the list of all the patch notes for the upcoming Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 update releasing later this month.
Marvel Rivals is back with a massive Season 2.5 update, and there’s a lot for players to get excited about. The new update launches on May 30, 2025, and it’s bringing Ultron as a brand-new playable hero, a mechanical makeover for the Arakko map, and several new Team-Up abilities that shake things up.
On top of that, NetEase has teased a new solo game mode, “Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol,” which is set to arrive on June 6. This update features a whole batch of balance changes and character tweaks that should make every match feel a bit different.
Six brand new Team-Up abilities are here, and some older ones are being retired or adjusted. Plus, players can look forward to new personalization features, like hero proficiency avatars, moods, and emojis.

Marvel Rivals Update 20250530 Patch Notes: All Character Changes
Now, let’s talk about all the changes that this new patch is coming with:
Captain America
- Health dropped slightly from 600 to 575.
- Shield recovery after using Living Legend takes longer. (2s to 4s)
- Increased energy cost for the Freedom Charge Ultimate. (2800 to 3100)
Doctor Strange
- Daggers of Denak now keep more damage at long range. (80% at 20m instead of 62.5%)
- Maelstrom of Madness no longer loses damage with distance.
Emma Frost
- Telepathic Pulse range is now 18m. (up from 15.5m)
- Mind’s Aegis shield is weaker. (500 to 400)
- Carbon Crush has a longer cooldown. (5s to 6s)
- Crystal Kick does less damage, both direct. (50 to 40) and when knocking enemies into walls (100 to 90)
Groot
- Vine Strike hits for a bit less. (70 to 65)
- Ironwood Wall takes longer to use again. (8s to 12s)
Magneto
- Rings now charge up faster. (3s per stack, instead of 4s)
Thor
- Hammer Throw is now a standard ability with no Thorforce cost. Damage lowered (throw: 70 to 45, return: 30 to 20).
- Gains 1 Thorforce for every enemy hit with Hammer Throw.
- Bonus Health from Thorforce is reduced (100 to 75 per Thorforce, max 200 to 150).
Hawkeye
- Regular arrow hits a bit harder. (32 to 34)
- Blast Arrow does slightly more. (projectile: 15 to 16; spell field: 32 to 34)
- Maximum focus is increased (70 to 75), and aiming/charging is faster. (aiming: 100/s to 108/s, charge falloff speed: 30/s to 32/s)
Hela
- Nightsword Thorn can hold more charge. (8 to 10)
Human Torch
- Fire Cluster hits do less damage. (7 to 6)
- Blazing Blast charges more slowly. (2s to 3s)
- Flaming Meteor shield is reduced (75 to 50), and the cooldown takes longer. (15s to 20s)
Iron Fist
- Dragon’s Defense is slightly weaker. (conversion rate: 1.5 to 1.3, max bonus: 200 to 175)
- Dash is shorter when there’s no target.
- Cooldown reduction from Jeet Kune Do hits is slower. (1.5s to 1s).
Iron Man
- Third Repulsor Blast is weaker (50 to 45), and spell field does less damage. (60 to 55)
- Armor Overdrive bonus health reduced. (100 to 50)
- No longer gets Gamma Overdrive from Hulk Team-Up; gains new effect from Stark Protocol.
Namor
- Blessing of the Deep cooldown is longer. (15s to 20s).
- Horn of Proteus (Ultimate) has a bigger area (inner circle: 3m to 3.5m, outer: 8m to 9m), but hit damage for the outer radius is reduced. (200 to 180)
- Monstro Spawn damage falloff changed to be less severe at max range. (now 50% at 40m, was 30%)
Psylocke
- Wing Shurikens do less damage on the way back. (14 to 12)
- Psychic Stealth invisibility is shorter. (3s to 2s)
Squirrel Girl
- Burst Acorn capacity increased. (10 to 12)
- Mammal Bond cooldown is shorter. (12s to 10s)
- Squirrel Blockade, Tail Bounce, and Ultimate have been improved for a better feel.
Star-Lord
- Galactic Legend (Ultimate) costs more energy. (3100 to 3400)
- Ultimate can target farther away (30m to 40m) and keeps more damage at max range. (now 75% at 40m, was 60%)
Storm
- Omega Hurricane (Ultimate) does more per second. (150/s to 160/s)
The Punisher
- Final Judgement (Ultimate) slows him less (not firing: 20% to 10%, firing: 40% to 30%).
- Adjudication magazine is larger (30 to 40) and each shot does more (18 to 19), with less spread.
Jeff the Land Shark
- Joyful Splash: Now damages enemies (70/s) and can heal through other allies, but healing per second is down (150 to 100). Damage falls off with range.
- Aqua Burst: Now has 3 charges, each takes 3s to charge. Direct hits now launch enemies. Spell field damage up. (40 to 45)
- Healing Bubble: Heals over 4 seconds instead of instantly (total: 120), with max charges down (6 to 3), and doesn’t launch enemies anymore.
- Hide and Seek: Has a new energy system (max 120, drains at 20/s), healing while submerged down (35/s to 15/s).
- It’s Jeff! (Ultimate): Overflow healing gives 45 bonus health per second, up to 150.
- Takes less damage from critical hits now. (reduction: 50% to 70%)
Luna Snow
- Light & Dark Ice heals and damages more. (20 to 22)
- Absolute Zero: Now gives 50 bonus health per enemy hit.
- Fate of Both Worlds (Ultimate) costs more energy. (4500 to 5000)
Rocket Raccoon
- Repair Mode heals a bit less. (55 to 50)
- Loses some old Team-Up effects, but gets a new one in Rocket Network.
Team-Up Abilities: What’s New and Changing
Six brand-new Team-Up abilities have been added:
- Chilling Assault (Luna Snow and Hawkeye)
- Operation: Microchip (Punisher and Black Widow)
- Rocket Network (Rocket and Peni Parker)
- Stark Protocol (Iron Man and Ultron)
- Symbiote Shenanigans (Venom and Jeff)

Other Team-Up balance tweaks include reduced bonuses for Atlas Bond, longer cooldowns for Fantastic Four combos, and some adjustments to Gamma Charge and Mental Projection Team-Ups.
