A PlayStation Store leak has revealed the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, along with confirmation that the fan-favorite Ape Escape mini-game, Snake vs. Monkey, is making a return.
Konami’s remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has been one of the most anticipated games of 2025 ever since it was first revealed in 2023. Fans have been waiting for any news on when they can finally step back into the boots of Naked Snake, and speculation has been running wild.
While the game was rumored to be coming this year, nothing was officially confirmed—until now, thanks to a new update on the PlayStation Store.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date
It looks like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will officially launch on August 25, 2025, according to a PlayStation Store product page. The date was revealed at the end of a brand-new trailer that was apparently uploaded too soon.
While the PlayStation Store briefly displayed the trailer, other storefronts like Steam still don’t have a release date listed, making this a significant slip-up. Fans can check out the new trailer below, which gives another look at the game’s stunning Unreal Engine 5 visuals, as well as the confirmation that the Ape Escape mini-game is returning.

One of the best surprises in Metal Gear Solid 3 was the Ape Escape crossover mini-game, Snake vs. Monkey. This mode had players tracking down and capturing loose apes from Ape Escape in a fun, lighthearted break from the main story. Now, thanks to this new leak, we know it’s making a comeback in the remake!
