A new rumor suggests that multiple PlayStation exclusives could be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 following its massive launch earlier this month.

Nintendo’s new console, the Switch 2, has had a huge month. After officially launching on June 5, it didn’t just sell well, it broke records. The Switch 2 officially sold 3.5 million units in its first four days, making it the fastest-selling console in Nintendo’s history. That kind of momentum is drawing attention from all corners of the industry, especially from third-party developers, and now, even Sony might be getting in on it.

According to a new rumor, it looks like PlayStation might be preparing to release some of its exclusive titles on the Switch 2, which would be a surprising but major shift if true.

PlayStation Exclusive Titles May Be Coming to Nintendo Switch 2

This rumor comes from a conversation on X (Twitter). A user named @omarabdulazizk first made a post, which translates to: “A major PlayStation exclusive is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. It’s an exclusive that was released in this generation.”

That’s when Omar Alomodi, a well-known journalist for True Gaming, a leading Arabic gaming outlet, jumped in. He replied in a quote-tweet: “More than one exclusive….” (machine translated)

That brief reply is what’s fueling the latest speculation. While there’s no mention of which PlayStation games might make the leap, the idea that multiple exclusives could land on Nintendo Switch 2 is raising eyebrows. If it happens, it would mark a pretty rare collaboration between the two console giants, especially considering how Sony is shifting its strategy by releasing its games on PC as well.

It’s also worth noting that the comment didn’t clarify whether these are Sony’s own first-party exclusives, like Astro Bot, The Last of Us, Returnal, or Ratchet & Clank, or third-party exclusives that are tied to the PlayStation brand, like Stellar Blade that has been PlayStation exclusive, but is made by a third-party studio.

Still, it’s worth keeping expectations in check. These posts aren’t official announcements, and as always with rumors, it’s smart to take this with a grain of salt. Nothing has been confirmed by Sony or Nintendo at this time.

In related news, a recent report claimed that major Xbox games like Starfield, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 could be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Even Call of Duty and Elden Ring were mentioned in leaks.

Adding to the excitement, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently praised the Switch 2 and said the company “fully expect to support” Nintendo’s next-gen console. That lines up with reports that Red Dead Redemption 2 is getting a next-gen upgrade that will include a release on Nintendo Switch 2 console later this year.
