A new report has shared some new details about Insomniac’s Venom spin-off, which is apparently still in development, and Spider-Man 3.
Fans of Insomniac’s Marvel projects have been waiting for solid updates since the massive leaks that hit the studio back in 2023. Those leaks laid out big plans, from Wolverine to a Venom spin-off and even hints of a third Spider-Man entry.
Now, a new report from MP1st adds more pieces to the puzzle, giving us an idea of where things currently stand, and possibly hinting at Spider-Man 3. According to the report, both Venom and Spider-Man 3 are still on the table, but the details may surprise fans who were expecting quicker turnarounds.
New Details On Insomniac’s Venom Spin-Off and Spider-Man 3
The Venom game is said to be in development, but likely not very far along. Insomniac is apparently treating Wolverine as the priority, leaving Venom in what sounds like pre-production for now. Story-wise, the report claims Eddie Brock would take center stage, taking the protagonist’s role, with Carnage (Cletus Kasady) returning as the main villain, and Anti-Venom also playing a big role. One line from the leak notes that “Eddie can maintain total control over his persona with Anti-Venom.”
Another big piece of information revealed in the report is that Spider-Man 2099 (Miguel O’Hara) is possibly showing up in a future Insomniac title. While it’s unclear if he’s tied to Venom, the report suggests it’s more likely connected to Spider-Man 3. This would make sense given the multiverse teases already sprinkled into Spider-Man 2
It’s also worth pointing out that Venom’s release window has shifted multiple times; originally planned to be released this year. But now, according to recently leaked information, it looks like the highly anticipated Venom game will be released sometime in 2027.
Of course, none of this is officially confirmed by Insomniac or Sony, so take it all with a grain of salt. In addition to that, there has also been an update about the Wolverine game, which is reportedly on track for release sometime in 2026.
