A new PlayStation Store leak appears to finally show Leon S. Kennedy alongside Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil 9: Requiem, giving fans their first real look at the fan favorite in Capcom’s next horror game.

Resident Evil 9: Requiem is already one of the biggest horror releases on the calendar. Capcom’s next mainline Resident Evil sends players back to the ruins of Raccoon City with a new lead, Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst who gets dragged into another bioterror disaster.

The game is currently set to release on February 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, and every new trailer or leak has fans trying to piece together where the story goes next. Since the reveal at Summer Game Fest, there has been a constant flow of rumors. Reports from insiders have talked about open-world city zones, a stronger focus on psychological horror, and Requiem acting as a kind of “end and beginning” for the series.

One of the biggest talking points has been Leon S. Kennedy. Multiple leaks claimed Leon would share the spotlight with Grace and that this could even be his last major role in the timeline, but Capcom never put him in any trailer or key art. Producers even brushed off some earlier images as fake, which only made the whole thing more confusing for fans following every update.

Now it looks like we finally have something solid. A new PlayStation Store listing has surfaced that appears to confirm Leon is in Resident Evil Requiem and that he plays a major role, thanks to brand new key art shown directly on a PS5 console.

Resident Evil Requiem PS5 Store Leak Confirms Leon With Grace

The images, shared by X user SpookyHoo, show the PS5 library screen for “Resident Evil Requiem” with updated box art. In the artwork, Grace stands in the foreground in her red jacket, while Leon looms behind her in the rain. His face, hair, and coat all match his Resident Evil 4 remake look, only older and more worn down, which lines up with recent talk about him appearing more rugged this time.

The UI text on the screenshot is in Arabic and lists February 24, 2026, as the expected automatic download date for PS5. That is three days before the global release on February 27, so it almost certainly refers to a preload window rather than a new launch date.

The leak fits neatly into what we have already heard. Earlier retailer listings for the Deluxe Edition pointed to several outfits for Grace, including a Lady Dimitrescu-inspired costume, along with weapon skins, an Apocalypse-themed filter, and a “Raccoon City Classic” audio pack. There were also “Letters from 1998” files hinted at, suggesting bonus lore that ties directly into the original outbreak era.

On the story side, insiders like Dusk Golem have claimed for months that Requiem is built around endings and new beginnings, with Leon getting a proper send-off and Umbrella’s legacy finally being closed out in the main timeline.

All of this lands just days before The Game Awards, where Resident Evil Requiem is widely expected to show up again. If Capcom really plans to bring Leon back in a big way, this PlayStation Store slip might be a quiet hint of what we will see on stage, possibly with a new trailer that finally shows him in motion.
