Bungie confirms a new Destiny 2 bug making Titan and Warlock supers take massive damage from bosses, calling it an “unintentional oversight” after the Edge of Fate update.
Destiny 2’s newest expansion, The Edge of Fate, launched last month with huge changes, new content, and some of the most ambitious system overhauls the game has seen in years. From the brand-new Portal system to the revamped Armor and abilities stats, it’s been a massive shake-up for players across the board.
But while the expansion has brought plenty of excitement, it hasn’t exactly been a smooth ride. Since the Edge of Fate update dropped, players have run into a long list of issues. We’ve seen movement speed not working as intended, the new Armor 3.0 stat system bugged, and other stealth nerfs.
And now, it looks like two more bugs have been found, this time hitting Titan and Warlock supers.
Titan Bubble and Warlock Well of Radiance Are Currently Bugged in Destiny 2
The latest problem came to light on the r/DestinyTheGame subreddit, where a player shared data showing that Titan’s Ward of Dawn (Bubble) and Warlock’s Well of Radiance are currently taking way more damage from bosses than they should. According to the post, Titan Bubble is apparently taking 2700% increased damage from bosses, while Warlock Well is taking 500% increased boss damage.
The player noted that Resilience (now Health after the Edge of Fate update) has no effect at all. They described the Bubble as going from “an impenetrable dome of light to a plastic bag,” adding that it’s been in a rough spot since The Final Shape launched. The data comes from the Destiny Data Compendium, a well-known community resource for in-game stats.
Bungie has since responded directly to the post via the official Destiny 2 Team account, confirming this is indeed a bug and not an intentional nerf.
“Hey there! Thanks for bringing awareness to this bug,” the reply reads. “This was an unintentional oversight on our part. Prior to 9.0.0, a Titan’s bubble resistance and a Warlock’s well resistance were tied to the character’s resilience stat, but that stat was removed with 9.0.0, and nothing replaced it, so the bubble and well are pointing to a 0 stat for any type of resistance right now. We’re working to get this corrected soon.”
The dev says a fix is in the works, though there’s no ETA yet. In related news, Sony recently confirmed that Bungie is slowly becoming part of PlayStation Studios.
“About the governance of Bungie, at the time of acquisition, we were offering a very independent environment, so that was one way of thinking,” Sony CFO Lin Tao said during the latest earnings call.
“However, we have gone through structural reform, as we announced last year, so this independence is getting lighter, and Bungie is shifting into a role which is becoming more part of PlayStation Studios, and integration is proceeding. In the long term, you can see this as an ongoing process. So the direction is to become part of PlayStation Studios.”
