Destiny Episode Revenant Developer Livestream Recap

If you missed the livestream, don’t worry—we’ve broken down every major announcement during the show, so you won’t miss a beat.

Destiny 2 Revenant Potion Crafting: Tonic Capsule

Episode Revenant will introduce a new system in Destiny 2 called Potion Crafting where players will be able to craft tonics that will boost rewards and seasonal Artifact perks. There are two types of tonics:

  • Volatile Tonics: Consume Volatile Tonics to increase your battle prowess. These Tonics use Combat Flavors and boost your seasonal Artifact perks, with higher rarity Tonics boosting multiple Artifact perks.
  • Enriching Tonics: Consume Enriching Tonics to increase rewards earned by defeating combatants and completing activities. These Tonics use Reward Flavors and help you attune two specific seasonal weapons that will come with enhanced perks.

One important thing to note is that seasonal weapons in Episode Revenant are not craftable. So, players will have to attune weapons to get their desired rolls.

Onslaught Salvation: New Maps, Defenses, Enemy Factions

The beloved Onslaught mode, originally added with the free Into The Light update, is getting a major investment in Episode Revenant, with three new maps featuring different enemy factions like Dark Cabal, and Scorn. One of the maps showcased during the livestream was Widow’s Court.

Onslaught Salvation brings a power-enabled 10-wave mode, the normal 50-wave mode, and the Expert 50-wave mode for hardcore players. There are two new Defenses in Onslaught Salvation: Turrets, and Air Strikes.

  • Players will have a small chance to get a fully-masterworked double-perked episodic weapon on Wave 30. On Expert difficulty, you will have two chances to get these masterwork weapons.
  • Onslaught Salvation on Expert difficulty will have Banes throughout the activity, in addition to the activity modifiers.

Tripwires are also getting Stasis-focused updates.

Revenant Season Pass Exotic Weapon: Stasis Primary Ammo Grenade Launcher

Bungie showed off the Season Pass exotic weapon in Episode Revenant: a Stasis Grenade Launcher that uses Primary ammo, similar to Fighting Lion. Similar to Mountaintop, the grenade projectiles of this weapon travel in a straight line.

The exotic perk, Vestigial Alchemy, allows players to collect Remnants that fill a meter. Once the meter hits 50%, you can generate Special ammo for yourself and your fireteam. At 100%, a special reload spawns a Heavy ammo brick for everyone.
