Destiny was originally released in 2014 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Back then, Bungie didn’t release this title on the PC. It was until the first comet expansion known as – The Taken King, that Destiny gains a huge bump in its fan-base. Up until now, The Taken King is still one of the top expansions we’ve gotten in the Destiny franchise. Now, let’s talk about the movie and TV show adaptation of this Destiny franchise.
Destiny: The Movie – Is It Really Happening?
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Creative Lead at Bungie, Robbie Stevens talks about whether or not we’ll see Destiny in an actual movie or TV show. He goes:
Anything is possible. One of the advantages of Bungie fully owning the Destiny IP is that we have the freedom to make those choices whenever we think the time is right. That’s all I can say about it.

While this doesn’t really confirm anything, but one thing is for sure that Bungie is thinking about the Destiny Movie/TV show. If they do it and do it right, Destiny Movie might be one of the best Video Game adaptation. Just thinking about Oryx in the actual show gives me chills.
Back when Activision had the IP rights for the Destiny franchise, things would be a lot more complex than they are right now. But, as we know, Bungie owns the Destiny IP and its full rights which means Destiny Movie could actually be possible. As we know, The Witcher series on Netflix was probably the most accurate adaptation created on video games/books. Talking about the movie adaptations, we had several other movies like Assassin’s Creed which was a total flop.
While on the other hand, Uncharted Movie lost yet another director for its movie (again). What are your thoughts about it?
Destiny was released on September 9, 2014, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Destiny 2 was released on September 4, 2017, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It was released later in 2019 on Google Stadia.
