Insomniac Games stays silent on Marvel Wolverine’s release date while announcing leadership changes and teasing big things to come: “We have to be like Logan today, and remain very stoic until it’s time to pop the claws down the road.”
Insomniac Games has been working hard on Marvel’s Wolverine, one of the most anticipated PlayStation titles in development right now. First announced back in 2021, the game’s teaser received very positive reception, with fans imagining what the studio behind the acclaimed Spider-Man franchise could do with Logan.
Expectations skyrocketed when leaks hinted at a gritty, mature tone and potential open-world gameplay, but Insomniac has remained tight-lipped ever since. Even as speculation grows louder, the developers continue to keep details under wraps, fueling both hype and curiosity.
This week, Insomniac’s silence on the Wolverine project continued. Fans hoping for a definitive release date were met with cautious optimism but no firm timeline.
Big Changes at Insomniac Games
Earlier today, Sony announced a significant shift in leadership at Insomniac Games. Longtime founder and president Ted Price announced his retirement, marking the end of an era for the studio. After more than 30 years at the helm, Price will officially step down in March 2025. Moving forward, Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang will serve as co-heads of the studio.
Following this announcement, Variety published an interview with new co-heads of Insomniac Games. In the interview, Chad Dezern addressed the Wolverine project. While remaining cryptic about the release date, he reassured fans that the team is committed to delivering something special.
“We’ve announced ‘Wolverine,’ and we’d love to talk more about ‘Wolverine,’ but we have to be like Logan today, and remain very stoic until it’s time to pop the claws down the road,” Dezern said. “As much as we’re as much as we have pent up excitement, we got to hold on to it. So that’s, that’s about as much as we could say about our upcoming projects today”
Despite the massive leak, and so much change and excitement brewing at Insomniac, one thing is clear: the team is deeply committed to delivering the best possible product.
