Struggling to get Cobalt Paste in Dune Awakening? Here’s the easiest way to craft it, with all ingredients, tips for farming.
If you’ve spent any time on Arrakis, you already know how many different parts, tools, and resources you need just to keep up. It’s easy to get lost in all the recipes and rare items, especially when you hit a wall with vehicle upgrades or advanced crafting.
One thing a lot of players run into is Cobalt Paste. You’ll need it to craft a bunch of different items, but it isn’t always clear where to start or how to make the process less of a grind.
In this guide, you’ll find out exactly how to get Cobalt Paste in Dune Awakening, the best way to collect all the ingredients, and a few tips to make the process faster.
How To Get Cobalt Paste in Dune Awakening
Cobalt Paste is a refined crafting material you’ll use for making vehicles, tools, and some of the most useful gear in the game. The official description says it’s “a dissolution of Cobalt, refined from Erythrite Crystal from the Hagga Rift at a Chemical Refinery. Used to create products that require Cobalt.” But what does that actually mean?
To craft Cobalt Paste, you’ll need to use a Chemical Refinery. There are two types: Small Chemical Refinery and Medium Chemical Refinery. The Medium Refinery is the better pick if you have access, since it uses fewer crystals and crafts faster.
Small Chemical Refinery Recipe:
- Erythrite Crystal x3
- Water x75
- Time: 15 seconds
- Makes: 1 Cobalt Paste
Medium Chemical Refinery Recipe:
- Erythrite Crystal x2
- Water x75
- Time: 10 seconds
- Makes: 1 Cobalt Paste
If you’re just starting out, don’t worry, both recipes work fine. The real trick is keeping enough ingredients on hand.
All Ingredients Needed For Cobalt Paste
Erythrite Crystal
This is the main ingredient and the one most players run short on. You’ll mostly find Erythrite Crystal in the Hagga Rift, especially at Choam Material Extraction Facilities. Check out our detailed guide on how to get Erythrite Crystal, best farming locations, and fastest methods here.
Water
The second item you need is water. Here are some of the ways to get it:
- Blood Extractor & Purifier: Defeat enemies, collect their blood, then use a purifier to turn it into water. Upgrading your purifier increases output.
- Dew Reaper: Use this tool on special plants at night to harvest dew, then store it in your Literjon.
- Stillsuit: Always keep a stillsuit on. It recycles sweat and saves your water supplies while you explore.
Again, we have a dedicated guide that gives you all the information you need to get water in Dune Awakening.
What Is Cobalt Paste Used For?
Cobalt Paste is essential for crafting a wide range of advanced items in Dune Awakening. You’ll need it for things like Buggy parts, Ornithopter components, Sandbike parts, Scorchbolts, Vaporizers, and Welding Torches, along with plenty of other high-end gear that makes surviving on Arrakis much easier.
Basically, whenever you’re looking to build or upgrade vehicles and top-tier tools, it’s a good idea to keep a solid stash of Cobalt Paste on hand.
