It looks like Insomniac’s Wolverine game finally has a more realistic release window, at least according to a new leak.
It’s been a while since Insomniac Games officially revealed Marvel’s Wolverine, and aside from a short cinematic teaser and a few scattered details, the team has been pretty quiet ever since. The game was first announced in 2021 as a standalone title.
While Insomniac hasn’t shared much since that first reveal, several leaks over the past year, including the massive ransomware breach in late 2023, gave fans an early look at what the studio might be working on. Among those was Wolverine, which reportedly went through several internal scheduling updates.
And now, we might finally have a better idea of when the game could actually be released.
New Leak Suggests When Marvel’s Wolverine Could Launch
According to a new report from MP1st, Insomniac is still aiming for a Marvel’s Wolverine release sometime in 2026. That lines up with earlier info from the massive 2023 Insomniac leak, but now we’re hearing that timeline hasn’t changed even after all the chaos the studio faced from that breach.
The new report also points to Sony’s recent financial update, which makes it pretty clear the game won’t arrive before April 2026, since it’s not listed in their lineup for the current fiscal year. So yes, it’s still a while away, but it’s also good to hear that the game’s not delayed beyond that. Given how polished Insomniac’s track record is, it sounds like they’re taking the time they need to get it right.
The report doesn’t go into new story details, but Wolverine is expected to be much more mature than Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. It’s been described as emotional, brutal, and heavily character-focused.
In addition, there was a recent report claiming that Sony is set to reveal Marvel’s Wolverine game in a State of Play happening at the end of this month. If true, we’re less than 2 weeks away before we get some official news about the game, potentially a release date as well.
As with any rumor, until officially confirmed by Sony or Insomniac, we suggest taking everything with a grain of salt.
