Destiny: Rising Season 4 launches March 26 with Pinnacle Energy removed, a new Fragment-based character system, Great Hunt content, and major progression changes.

Destiny: Rising Season 4, called Season of Wishes, looks like a direct answer to some of the biggest complaints players have had since launch. Three seasons in, NetEase is openly saying player feedback has pushed this update, and the new season is built around both new story content and major system changes.

Season 4 brings a new campaign focused on the Ahamkara Njorun, a new Red Sea Rift area, The Great Hunt activity, more Strikes and Gauntlet content, new weapons, and a higher team level cap. Now, after a bunch of teasers for season 4 on social media earlier this month, NetEase officially unveiled Season 4 today in a new developer preview.

Destiny Rising Season 4 release date

Destiny: Rising Season 4 launches on March 26, 2026. NetEase is positioning Season of Wishes as one of the game’s biggest updates yet, with the studio saying it wants to close the gap between what the game is trying to do and what players actually want from it.

All Destiny Rising Season 4 changes

With the launch of Season 4, Destiny Rising is getting some huge changes. The team knows players have pushed back on energy limits and gacha-heavy character access, so this update goes straight at both of those issues. Here are the major changes announced today.

Destiny Rising Season 4 removes Pinnacle Energy

The biggest change is the end of Pinnacle Energy. NetEase said it will “remove the Pinnacle system,” which means players will no longer be stopped by a hard cap when moving through activities.

That is a major shift from how the game has worked since launch, when Pinnacle Energy was meant to slow down progress across Campaign, Gauntlet Ops, and Shifting Gates.

Destiny Rising Season 4 changes gacha character unlocks

Character access is also getting a major rework. NetEase said it is “moving away from a pure draw-based model” in Destiny Rising and replacing that with a Character Fragment system.

Players will be able to earn Fragments through activities, and collecting 40 lets them build a character directly. The post also says players entering during Season 4 will get the new season character for free, while finishing the season’s core objectives awards 40 Fragments that can be exchanged for a character of your choice.

“Season Milestone Reward: To honor our most dedicated players, completing all core seasonal objectives will award 40 Fragments at the end of the season, which can be exchanged for a character of your choice,” the article reads.

Destiny Rising Season 4 adds Great Hunt and new story content

On the content side, Season 4 adds a full main story campaign tied to Njorun, opens a new Red Sea Rift area, and introduces The Great Hunt, a multi-encounter Gauntlet Ops challenge. NetEase also confirmed new Strikes, Gauntlet Blitz content, new Exotic and Mythic weapons, and three additional branches in Realms of the IX.

Destiny Rising Season 4 reworks weapons, endgame, and progression

There is also a lot changing under the hood. NetEase says the Weapon and Gear system is being rebuilt around Relics and a new modular weapon setup, while endgame players will get a new difficulty at launch along with Operation Cordon and Adept challenges. The Expanse is also expanding “4 different modes depending on the weapon types, the rewards of completing the challenges will refresh with the progressing seasons”, and the team level cap is being “increased to Level 90.”
