It’s been rumored for quite some time now that EA is working on a new Star Wars game previously codenamed Project Maverick. The official reveal for this game was originally scheduled for June 9, 2020, but it was delayed at a later date. A new leak from Microsoft Store shows off the new look at the Star Wars: Squadrons, the next installment in the Star Wars franchise.
Star Wars: Squadrons Leaked By Microsoft Store
Spotted first by Gematsu, Star Wars: Squadrons are indeed looking like a flight simulator as reported by Bespin Bulletin a while ago. The leaked banner features X-Wing starfighters along with the TIE fighters. As per the reports, Star Wars: Squadrons is developed by EA Motives who has previously worked on Star Wars: Battlefront II and Bioware’s Anthem.
Shortly after the leak, Venture Beat’s Jeff Grubb added that this new Star Wars game will feature a single-player campaign that is a few hours long. The main focus of this game is online multiplayer space combat which has already been rumored. “It has a single-player campaign that is a few hours long. But the focus is on multiplayer space combat.”
In other news, EA has shifted the majority of the developers currently working on Star Wars: Battlefront II to the next Battlefield game releasing in 2021, as per insider information. What are your thoughts on this? Are you looking forward to this new Star Wars game? Let us know in the comments!
