Update: Quitter penalties for Trials of Osiris will go live on Friday, September 17, 2021, as confirmed by Bungie.
“We are enabling the quitter penalties that we use on the Glory playlists – giving you a 30-minute timeout if you quit out of too many games.”
Original story: One of Destiny 2’s competitive PvP modes, Trials of Osiris, received a massive overhaul in terms of rewards and ranks last week and the community quite enjoyed the new changes. However, there is still one problem that is players backing out of the match early. Bungie has confirmed that they will be adding a timeout feature for Trials of Osiris.
A Reddit user asked it would be best to add a ban/timeout feature in Trials of Osiris for players “that back out of matches prematurely”, to which the Lead Community Manager at Bungie, Chris Shannon, replied, “We are looking into adding a similar timeout that you get for Comp.”
We don’t have an estimated time for when this feature will be added to the game but it is coming.

Right now, if you back out in a Competitive match or Gambit match, you’ll get a 30 min suspension meaning you will not be able to play that activity for 30 minutes. This is a very useful feature for those who tend to back out giving the opposing team a plain advantage.

This past week, 238,000+ players went flawless. Not to mention, Trials of Osiris broke its all-time high player record as well with 748,000+ players during last weekend, according to Destiny Trials Report.
Apart from the PvP side of things, Destiny 2 Season of the Lost story is going strong with the new exotic trace rifle Ager’s Scepter quest now live in the game.
