Avidity joins the growing list of Destiny 2 cheat providers shutting down as Bungie continues its fight against cheating.

Bungie isn’t holding back in its fight against cheating in Destiny 2. Over the past couple of years, the studio has gone after cheat sellers with lawsuits and legal actions, earning millions in court victories. Just this week, cheat provider Opium Cheats shut down after receiving a cease and desist letter from Bungie. Now, another cheat maker, Avidity, has announced it is shutting down Destiny 2 services.

With this, Bungie is proving it means business when it comes to protecting its players and ensuring the game stays fair for everyone.

Destiny 2 Cheat Seller Avidity Shutting Down

News about Avidity came to light through a post made by the providers themselves. In a statement shared on the official Discord server, the owner, Askkar, confirmed that they would no longer be offering cheats for Destiny 2, citing legal action and a potential “million-dollar lawsuit” from Bungie as the reason. The post made it clear that this was a direct response to Bungie’s cease and desist order. Here’s the full statement from Avidity:

“Just saw a C&D email from Bungie this morning. I’ve been looking for/expecting this for a while now since a close friend of mine’s cheat got the same email and shut down 2 days ago. As I’m based in the USA and this project is not worth the potential million-dollar lawsuit from them I’ve decided to fully shut down Avidity Destiny 2 per Bungie’s request.

“All subscriptions currently active will remain so until they run out. No new keys will be available for purchase. If you have any questions regarding where you stand as a long-term key buyer, make a ticket.”

This announcement comes just days after Bungie banned a significant number of accounts for cheating in Destiny 2. The studio’s ongoing efforts have also seen major legal victories against cheat providers like AimJunkies, Elite Boss Tech, and LaviCheats, with damages awarded in the millions.

In related news, former Destiny 2 community manager, Liana Ruppert, recently revealed that devs pushed for a proper player housing system in the game, a feature fans have been requesting Bungie for quite some time now.
