Battlefield 6’s beta pulled in an eight-figure player count according to analysts, with feedback on Rush mode raising concerns but not enough to drag down the overall positive reception.
The hype around Battlefield 6 just keeps climbing. With the game set to launch later this year, the recent open beta weekends gave fans their first real taste of the gameplay, and the numbers behind it are apparently massive.
According to Oppenheimer, a research firm that tracked the beta’s performance, the first weekend alone, from August 7 to 11, brought in over 5 million players across platforms. Now, with the second weekend wrapped up, the research firm has updated its estimates and believes the Battlefield 6 beta pulled in an eight-figure player count overall.
Battlefield 6 Open Beta Player Count
The data comes from Oppenheimer’s report, which analyzed Steam concurrent users and compared them against trends in similar big-budget shooters. They project that the Battlefield 6 open beta saw more than 20 million participants, assuming about 70% were on PC and 30% on consoles. That’s a huge turnout for a test phase and shows just how much interest there is in EA’s next Battlefield.
“Rush” mode, however, didn’t quite land the same way with everyone. While most of the beta feedback has been strongly positive, Oppenheimer pointed out that negative comments were mostly concentrated on this one mode.
The excitement around the beta isn’t just coming from players. EA’s stock has been trading near its 52-week high, with Oppenheimer maintaining an Outperform rating and setting a $185 price target. That’s a strong signal that analysts see Battlefield 6’s momentum carrying through to launch and beyond.
That said, it’s important to keep in mind that these figures aren’t official. EA hasn’t confirmed the total player count from the beta, so while Oppenheimer’s numbers paint a promising picture, they should still be taken with a grain of salt.
Battlefield 6 is officially set to release on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.
