Destiny 2 fans are in for a treat! Bungie is set to reveal more details about the future of the game, including “Destiny 2: Codename Frontiers,” next Monday, September 9, 2024, at 8 AM PT.
After months of suspense, Destiny 2 fans are finally getting some details about what’s next for the franchise. Back in June, Bungie teased the future of the game under the codename “Frontiers,” hinting at major developments.
Now, the wait is almost over. In this week’s This Week In Destiny article, Bungie revealed that an update about Destiny’s future will drop next Monday, September 9, 2024, at 8 AM PT.
Destiny 2: Frontiers To Be Revealed Next Week
This upcoming announcement will feature a “short Dev Insight blog article” that aims to outline the future direction of Destiny 2. Both Tyson Green, Destiny 2 Game Director, and Alison Lührs, Narrative Director, will steer the conversation.
“We’re also planning to start our journey into Destiny 2 – Codename: Frontiers,” the blog post reads. “At 8AM PT, we’ll be releasing a short Dev Insight blog article discussing our goals for the future of Destiny. Destiny 2 Game Director Tyson Green and Destiny 2 Narrative Director Alison Lührs will be guiding the conversation.
“Where have we been, where are we now, and where do we want to go? Most importantly… how are we going to get there? We want to be clear about our commitment to ongoing communication with you. This marks the beginning of regular updates from our development team about what’s next for Destiny 2, including details about its systems and future plans.
“There are quite a few topics on our communications roadmap to tackle, so this will be the start of a conversation. Our main goal is to provide bite-sized, direct to the point articles over the next few months rather than mega-blogs where it’s too easy to get mired in the details.”
Last month, several reports from trusted journalists and insiders hinted that Destiny 2 might be shifting away from its annual expansions in favor of smaller content packs. These packs are expected to come alongside free updates, much like the Into the Light update Bungie rolled out earlier this year.
