Activision officially revealed and released Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered after several leaks and rumors popping up recently. The game is currently only available on PlayStation 4 due to Activision’s exclusivity deal with Sony, but other platforms (XB1 and PC) will follow up with the release on April 30th. Speaking of Modern Warfare 2, a new rumor has it that Activision is still interested and “testing” Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Remastered.

Would You Want Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Multiplayer?

This rumor comes from TheGamingRevolution (Account suspended), the guy who has been leaking almost every Activision game recently, including Crash Bandicoot, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and a bunch of others. This time, his source is “insisting” that “MW2 remastered multiplayer is still in development and is still being tested on.”

This is indeed interesting because Activision made a comment that they are not interested in releasing a separate multiplayer game as it’ll divide the player base. Instead, they’ll add old multiplayer maps to Modern Warfare. (2019)

Another interesting thing we’ve noticed is that the total size of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered (released in 2016) was around 40 GBs featuring both campaign and multiplayer. And the newly released Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is standing on a total of 45 GBs, with the campaign and no multiplayer. So, it could be pointing toward something, right?

At this point, we don’t know anything solid about this rumor, so take everything we a grain of salt. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments!

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is released on October 25, 2019, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
