Bungie has revealed the Equilibrium dungeon coming in Destiny 2 Renegades. Here’s the release date, start time, Contest Mode info, dungeon race rules, loot details, and everything you need to know.
Destiny 2’s next expansion, Renegades, is almost here, and Bungie has now pulled the curtain back on its brand-new dungeon. If you’ve been keeping up with the game’s recent updates, you’ll know that the previous expansion, The Edge of Fate, launched with a raid called the Desert Perpetual.
Now it’s Renegades’ turn to introduce its own major endgame activity, and Bungie has officially revealed the new dungeon coming shortly after launch.
The studio has released new details, a trailer, and the key art for the Renegades dungeon, confirming the name Equilibrium. Along with that, we now know the release date, start time, Contest Mode rules, and even a small tease of new loot coming with it.
Destiny 2 Renegades Equilibrium Dungeon Release Date & Start Time
The new Renegades dungeon is called Equilibrium, and it goes live on:
- December 13, 2025 at 9:00 AM PST
- 10:00 AM MST
- 11:00 AM CST
- 12:00 PM (Noon) EST
- 5:00 PM GMT
- 6:00 PM CET
- 10:30 PM IST
- 2:00 AM JST (December 14)
- 4:00 AM AEDT (December 14
Bungie describes the dungeon as “walking the balanced path between fire and shadow.”
Destiny 2 Equilibrium Dungeon Race Details
Just like with previous dungeon launches, Bungie is hosting an official 48-hour dungeon race for Equilibrium.
The race begins the moment the dungeon goes live:
- Start: Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 9 AM PT
- End: Monday, December 15, 2025, at 9 AM PT
During this window, teams from around the world will compete to finish every encounter and loot the final chest. The first team to complete everything under Contest Mode will earn a unique reward: a “first-of-its-kind engram trophy”, created specifically for the World First dungeon team.

Destiny 2 Equilibrium Dungeon Race Rules
Just like the Desert Perpetual raid, Bungie has revealed several rules for teams looking to compete officially in the Equilibrium dungeon race. Check out the full requirements below:
- Only one member of the six-player fireteam is required to stream.
- The stream must be on Twitch, YouTube, or BiliBili.
- VOD must be enabled so the footage is saved.
- Players can hide certain parts of the screen, but only using Bungie’s official overlay. (or a custom version that blocks the same areas)
- No extra overlays can be used to hide gameplay, even as a joke.
- The approved overlay is only required during the competition.
- Branding or a face cam is allowed, as long as gameplay isn’t covered beyond the permitted zones.
- The streamer cannot block additional gameplay areas outside of what Bungie allows.
- Game audio must be on at all times, although voice chat can be muted.
- The streaming player must submit their details through Bungie’s form before the race starts.
Destiny 2 Equilibrium Contest Mode & Power Level Requirements
The Equilibrium dungeon will launch with 48 hours of Contest Mode active. This means everyone will be temporarily capped in Power to keep the race fair.
As of right now, Bungie hasn’t shared the exact Power Level needed or any specific Contest Mode modifiers. We’ll update this section once those numbers are confirmed.
Destiny 2 Equilibrium Dungeon Loot
The trailer gives us a early look at what’s coming. One weapon in particular stands out, a new sniper rifle seen in the trailer shots. Another really interesting weapon teased in the trailer is the Darkblade.
For now, we don’t have the full look of all the dungeon rewards, armor sets, or any exotic weapon tied to Equilibrium. This section will be updated as soon as Bungie releases more details.
