GTA 6 preview events are reportedly underway, with a new report saying Rockstar has begun showing the game ahead of its August 27 Extended Look.
GTA 6 has had a busy 24 hours. Alleged gameplay clips have surfaced showing Jason playing basketball, driving around Leonida, interacting with NPCs, and apparently triggering police attention, while a separate leak claims to show the game’s full map. Take-Two has also reportedly started issuing copyright takedowns against some of the material spreading online.
Rockstar is preparing its next official GTA 6 presentation. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while an Extended Look is set to premiere on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET on August 27 before appearing through Rockstar’s own channels later that day.

Now, a new report connected to those leaks suggests something else may already be happening behind closed doors.
GTA 6 Preview Events Are Reportedly Underway Amid New Leaks
Insider Gaming reports that GTA 6 preview events are currently underway. The outlet doesn’t say which publications or creators have attended, what Rockstar has shown during the sessions, or when any resulting coverage might be published.
Rockstar hasn’t publicly announced a GTA 6 media preview event, and Insider Gaming doesn’t claim that journalists are already playing the game themselves. These could be controlled demos, hands-off presentations, or something more substantial. The report simply confirms that preview events are taking place.
If Rockstar is holding media sessions now, coverage could potentially be prepared around the August 27 Extended Look or released sometime afterward.

For now, though, all eyes are on August 27 for the big (and official) GTA 6 reveal.
