Spyro is one of the classic platform video game titles originally developed by Insomniac Games and published by Activision. The first-ever installment in the franchise was released in 1998 as – Spyro The Dragon. Today, we have some insider detail on a brand-new project that Activision is currently working on.
This rumor/leak comes from TGR, who has been leaking Activision titles including previous and upcoming Call of Duty games, Crash Bandicoot titles, and now, a new Spyro game. In his tweet, TGR mentioned, “A new Spyro game is in the works.”
In January, there was a leak suggesting the same thing – a new Spyro game in the works. According to the leak, the game is developed by Toys for Bob, will be revealed during the PlayStation 5 games reveal. This new installment is scheduled to be released in Q2 of 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC. We do have to mention that nothing is officially confirmed regarding these leaks and rumors. So, take everything we a grain of salt.

“New companions will be introduced; old friends such as Hunter, Elora, & Bianca will not make a return. Sparx, Moneybags, & the Professor are the only returning characters. Another dragon by the name of Mixie will be playable alongside Sparx,” the leak said.
In 2018, Activision released a remastered version of the first three games – Spyro Reignited Trilogy, developed by Toys for Bob, on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. The game did really well sales-wise in the UK.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
