Marvel Rivals is officially here. Released today, December 6, 2024, this 6v6 hero-based brawler from NetEase Games has already soared to the top of Steam’s charts as the most-played game and is racking up hundreds of thousands of concurrent viewers on Twitch.
With iconic heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe at its core, the game lets players build their dream teams to battle in high-stakes matches. From Iron Man to Loki, Marvel Rivals is packed with familiar faces, and fans have been speculating about which characters might join the roster next.
Ahead of the launch, leaks hinted at Fantastic Four heroes making an appearance, and now, with the game officially out, a new leak seems to confirm the arrival of one of Marvel’s most beloved characters: The Thing.
New Marvel Rivals Leak Gives Us a Glimpse of The Thing
According to a post shared by the RivalsLeaks account on X (Twitter), dataminers have found assets in the game files showcasing The Thing. The leak shows The Thing in all his rocky glory. You can check out the leaked image below:
The design stays true to his classic comic book appearance, complete with his signature rocky exterior and blue shorts bearing the Fantastic Four emblem. Interestingly, the leaks also suggest that The Thing’s team-up is with Wolverine and Hulk.
While this potential trio of heavy hitters sounds incredibly exciting, it’s worth taking this speculation with a grain of salt. As of now, NetEase has made no official announcements when The Thing will be added to the game’s roster.
However, given that assets for The Thing have already been found in the game files, it’s safe to assume he will arrive in Marvel Rivals at some point in the future.
