Bungie has finally answered the long-standing demand of Destiny 2 fans by introducing the highly sought-after Super Black shader with the Into the Light update. The iconic shader, which was originally a fan-favorite in Destiny 1, has made a triumphant return, much to the delight of Guardians everywhere.

How to Obtain Superblack Shader in Destiny 2
There are two steps to unlock the shader—which are pretty straightforward. You need to obtain a total of two keys from Lord Shaxx and Arcite 99-40 vendor at the new Hall of Champions social space.
Obtain the Superblack Key Alpha
- Head to the Hall of Champions social space and visit Lord Shaxx, the Crucible vendor.
- Earn reputation with Lord Shaxx by participating in Onslaught activity and completing related bounties and challenges.
- Upon reaching Rank 17 with Lord Shaxx, you will be able to obtain the “Superblack Key Alpha” key from him.
- This key is essential for unlocking the Supeblack shader.
The fastest way to reach Rank 17 of Lord Shaxx is by farming the first 10 waves of Onslaught on Legend difficulty, as well as completing the daily bounties from Shaxx and weekly bounties from Arcite-9940.
Acquire the Superblack Key Omega
- Another key, the “Superblack Key Omega,” is required to complete the set and unlock the Super Black shader.
- This key is obtained from Arcite 99-40, a vendor found in the new Hall of Champions social space.
- Complete weekly Brave weapons quests from Arcite 99-40. You need to all 12 Brave weapon quests in order to acquire this key. Keep in mind that some of these weapon quests are time-gated and will be released every week until April 30th.
- By completing these weekly weapon quests, you can get the second Superblack Key Omega key.
Unlocking the Superblack Shader
- After obtaining both the Superblack Key Alpha and Superblack Key Omega, you need to unlock the shader itself.
- Visit the Hall of Champions social space in the Tower.
- Proceed to the main hall and head all the way to the end, where you’ll find Lord Shaxx.
- Behind Lord Shaxx, you’ll discover the location to unlock the Super Black shader.
- Interact with the blue energy-shielded door and unlock the shader.
- Upon successful completion, the Super Black shader will be unlocked and added to your inventory.
