A new report says that Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games and the GTA franchise, could be working on some GTA remasters or remakes.

Yesterday, Andy Robinson from VGC, tweeted on his Twitter account saying that out of the three unannounced titles, “some of these will almost certainly cover GTA titles.”

Take-Two published an investor presentation last week featuring the revenue generated from its properties this year so far. The presentation confirmed that the publisher is working on three unannounced “new iteration of previously released titles”, or in simple terms, remasters or remakes.

“Remastering has always been a part of the strategy,” Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two Interactive CEO, during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference. “We’ve done differently than the competition – we don’t just port titles over, we actually take the time to do the very best job we can making the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we’re launching it on.

“So, we improve the technology, we upgrade the visuals, and we make performance enhancements. And that’s why I think our remastered titles typically do so well.”

While this clearly suggests that the company is working on several Grant Theft Auto remastered or remake titles, keep in mind that there are a lot of other Take-Two titles that could actually use a remastered version, including the Max Payne franchise, and Red Dead Redemption 1.
