A new Tony Hawk Pro Skater remaster is reportedly in the works.
If you grew up playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, you probably remember spending hours trying to land the perfect trick while the soundtrack blasted in the background. When Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 got a full remaster in 2020, fans were hyped to see the series make a comeback.
It sold incredibly well, proving that there was still a lot of love for the franchise. Naturally, people expected THPS 3 + 4 to follow, but reports later surfaced that Activision shot down that idea. That was a tough pill to swallow, but now, new information suggests that a remaster is in the works, raising the big question: Is it finally THPS 3+4, or something else entirely?
New Details on the Next Tony Hawk Remaster
The latest update comes from The Breakfast Club podcast, where professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones casually mentioned that a new Tony Hawk remaster is happening. This wasn’t some vague comment, he straight-up said he was included in the last game and is also set to appear in the next one, which is yet to be announced.
Here’s what he said: “I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out, that’s cool. They got a new one they remastering so that’s about to come out, I was in the last one.”
The obvious hope is THPS 3 + 4, since those were originally planned before Activision shut it down. But there’s also a chance this could be a Tony Hawk’s Underground remaster. Either way, the fact that Activision is actively working on something means the series isn’t dead.
Tony Hawk himself has been hinting at the franchise’s future, recently posting about the 25-year anniversary of the series. While he didn’t say much, he teased that there’s more to come.
What do you think? Would you rather see THPS 3 + 4 finally happen, or is it time for Underground to get some love? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
