Xbox fans, brace yourselves: reports suggest Hellblade 2, Gears of War, and more could be coming to PlayStation 5 in 2025.
It seems Xbox’s era of console exclusivity might be loosening up even further. According to recent rumors, some of Microsoft’s flagship titles, including Hellblade 2 and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, could hit PlayStation 5 this year.
This marks a potential shift in strategy, aligning with Xbox head Phil Spencer’s earlier comments about having no “red lines” for bringing Xbox games to other platforms. Essentially, if it makes financial sense, it’s on the table.
For years, exclusives were a key battleground in the console wars. But Microsoft’s approach seems to be evolving. Its focus on Xbox as a platform rather than a hardware-only ecosystem—amplified by services like Game Pass and cloud gaming—signals that it is prioritizing content accessibility over console exclusivity.
This rumored wave of Xbox games heading to PlayStation could further highlight this strategy shift.
All Rumored Major Xbox Titles Coming To PlayStation
This started with insider NateTheHate, who claimed on his podcast that Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 could be heading to PS5 in 2025.
Following this, Jez Corden of Windows Central corroborated these claims, adding that Age of Mythology, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 are also reportedly set for PlayStation 5.
This means five big Xbox titles could debut on Sony’s platform later this year. If true, it’d be a significant moment for fans who’ve stuck with one ecosystem but longed for the other’s exclusives. Interestingly, it’s also claimed that both Halo and Flight Simulator might also arrive on the unannounced Nintendo Switch 2, potentially broadening the reach of these franchises.
While this is exciting news, it’s important to take everything with a grain of salt. Plans can change, and rumors don’t always materialize.
