Bungie’s addressing Destiny 2’s perk RNG bug with a double loot drop for the Vesper’s Host dungeon, along with curated weapon rolls at Banshee-44 for a limited time.
Bungie is finally releasing a new patch to fix the Destiny 2 perk RNG bug that left players frustrated over rare perk combinations, especially in weapons from the Vesper’s Host dungeon.
For those out of the loop, players noticed certain perk rolls seemed almost impossible to obtain, despite Bungie’s initial statements that everything was working as expected. Through community-led analysis, players collected solid evidence of a bug affecting perk drops in certain cases.
This investigation led to Bungie acknowledging the problem and committing to fixes. And now, with Hotfix 8.1.0.4, planned for tomorrow, November 5, Bungie aims to fix the bugged RNG perk weighting that affected these drops.
Alongside this fix, the developer is offering limited-time rewards for players who missed out on their desired perks due to this issue.
Destiny 2 Vesper’s Host Double Rewards and Curated Weapon Rolls
To thank the Destiny 2 community for their investigative efforts, Bungie will be offering double drops in the Vesper’s Host dungeon from November 19 through December 3. The developer confirmed this update on the official Destiny 2 Team account on X (Twitter).
During this period, players can get extra loot from dungeon encounters and activity completions, including weapons and armor.
“Starting November 19 through December 3, the Vesper’s Host Dungeon will offer double drops for encounter and activity completions,” Bungie said in a post on X. “Both weapon and armor rewards can drop from encounter completions. This will be a great time to hunt for your desired rolls on weapons, or even hit Master difficulty to earn some Artifice armor.”
In addition to the double Vesper’s Host rewards, Bungie has also confirmed that Banshee-44 will be offering a selection of curated weapons with specific perk rolls starting November 19. “Our goal is to get you some perk combinations that were a bit harder to earn due to the bug,” Bungie shared in a post.
Although there’s no end date yet for picking up these weapons, Bungie is encouraging players to grab these rolls as soon as they go live in the game.
Below, you can find all the curated weapons coming to Banshee-44 starting November 19, 2024:
- Rose Hand Cannon: Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Slideshot, Explosive Payload, Smooth Grip, Handling MW

Note that to get the dungeon weapon listed above, you must have dungeon ownership and have completed at least one dungeon. For those wondering about the cost of picking up these god rolls, Bungie has confirmed that these will be completely free, meaning no material or other currency is required.
“No glimmer or material cost [required],” said Destiny 2’s community lead, Dylan Gafner. “Intended to be freebies. Only weapons that need anything are dungeon-related – just complete the dungeon and you can pick ’em up.”
With both double dungeon drops and curated rolls available, this limited-time window is a great chance for players looking to get that specific god roll for the Vesper’s Host dungeon weapons.
