Marvel Games’ Haluk Mentes says Insomniac was “the perfect choice” to bring Logan back in Marvel’s Wolverine, calling the game a result of shared values and years of trust.
Marvel’s Wolverine is easily one of the most talked-about upcoming superhero games, and for good reason. After the major success of the Spider-Man series, Insomniac Games is now taking on a very different kind of Marvel character: Logan. And according to Marvel Games GM Haluk Mentes, there was never any doubt about who should bring Wolverine back to life.
Speaking in a recent interview with Game Informer, Mentes said Insomniac was “the perfect choice” to bring Marvel’s Wolverine to life, describing the upcoming title as “spectacular and visceral.” He explained that the long-standing partnership between Marvel Games and Insomniac made this collaboration feel natural.

“We have been working together for more than a decade,” he said, referring to the studio’s track record with Marvel’s Spider-Man and its sequels. “And developed such a shorthand across multiple Marvel’s Spider-Man games that when the time finally came to bring Logan back in spectacular and visceral fashion, it was obvious to everyone on our team that Insomniac was the perfect choice.”
“Insomniac was the perfect choice”
But it wasn’t only about history; it was about shared values. Mentes explained that Marvel Games looks for studios that care as deeply about the characters as they do. He said they work best with people who “dream the same dream,” and who are excited about reimagining Marvel characters in ways that still feel true to who they are. That balance of familiar and original is what they’ve been aiming for.
Wolverine, in particular, is described as “the epitome” of Marvel Games’ creative philosophy. Mentes praised Insomniac’s ability to keep things authentic while still making bold creative choices. And he made it clear this isn’t just a one-off project, Marvel and Insomniac plan to keep working together “for many years to come.”
“It was our shared culture and values that brought us together, and we’re so proud to continue collaborating for many years to come,” he said.
For now, hearing Marvel Games call Insomniac “the perfect choice” only adds more confidence that Logan’s comeback will be something special, raw, brutal, and unmistakably Wolverine, as seen in the gameplay reveal trailer earlier this year.
