Destiny 2 Season of the Lost is going strong. Like with every season, Season of the Lost brought a bunch of new weapons, armor, and exotics. Speaking of exotic weapons, players can already unlock the new exotic Linear Fusion Rifle Lorentz Driver from the Season of the Lost season pass. But, there’s another secret exotic trace rifle called Ager’s Scepter, that players can unlock in the game.
In this guide, we’ll go in-depth on how you can unlock the Ager’s Scepter exotic trace rifle in Destiny 2.
How to unlock Ager’s Scepter Exotic Trace Rifle in Destiny 2
First, you need to get the quest “Tracing The Stars I” from Mara Sov that will lead to the exotic quest in the coming weeks.
Atlas Skews Location – Tracing The Stars I
This quest step was available during week one of Season of the Lost. This week, you’ll need to collect five Atlas Skews scattered around the Divalian Mists, Spine of Kerres, and in lost sectors.
Bay of Drowned Wishes Lost Sector
The first one is located in the Bay of Drowned Wishes lost sector. Simply spawn in the Divalian Mists, turn around, and head right into the lost sector. Stick to your right wall and you’ll find the first Atlas Skew.
The Divalian Mists Cave
Fast travel back to the Divalian Mists landing zone and make your way to the cliffside cave in the middle of the map. Head in, and you’ll find the second Atlas Skew there.
The Divalian Mists – Rheasilvia Edge
After you’ve collected the second one, exit the cave and head to the far left of the area where you’ll find one of Queen’s Techeuns. Drop down from the edge and you’ll see a platform. There, you’ll find the third Atlas Skew.
Spine of Kerres
The fourth Atlas Skew is located inside the huge chamber in the Spine of Kerres where you first visit Mara Sov in the Forsaken campaign. Make your way into the chamber and you’ll find it right above the Techeun.
Spine of Kerres – Far Left Planes
The last one in this area is located on the far left planes across the bridge where you complete the “Corsair Down” quest. Simply follow the location on the map and Atlas Skew will pop up on your screen.
After collecting all five, you’ll need to visit the H.E.L.M. to proceed. You can also watch Esoterickk‘s video guide below:
Atlas Skews Location – Tracing The Stars II
For Tracing The Stars II, you’ll need to collect five Atlas Skews in the Strand, Gardens of Esilia, and in the lost sector of the area. Let’s start!
Huge Rock Statue
After entering the area, you’ll need to make your way to this huge statue on top of this massive rock to your left. The first Atlas Skew can be found there.
Petra Venj’s Location
Head to where Petra Venj is located in the area and jump on top of this tree behind her where you’ll see some platforms. The second Atlas Skew will be on one of these platforms.
Aphelion Brazier Lost Sector
This one is located inside the Aphelion Brazier lost sector. Simply, make your way past all the ads to the end of the lost sector and you’ll find this third Atlas Skew there.
Gardens of Esilia – Waterfall
The last two are located in the Gardens of Esilia area. This one is by the waterfall on the fall right side of the map.
Gardens of Esilia – Middle Tree
From the same spot, climb up to the middle bridge and you’ll find the fifth Atlas Skew right underneath the tree.
After this step, you’ll need to visit the H.E.L.M. again to progress the quest.
Atlas Skews Location – Tracing The Stars III
Tracing The Stars III will require you to find five Atlas Skew in the Rheasilvia and Harbinger’s Seclude. Let’s get started.
Underneath the Bridge
From the entrance, go towards the bridge but do not cross it. Drop down and you’ll find the first Atlas Skew lying there.
Huge Rock Structure – Right Side
From the same location, make your way towards the far left side of the map where you’ll find some Scorn enemies. Climb on top and it’ll be shown on your screen.
Behind the Harbinger’s Seclude Gate
This one is probably the trickiest to get to. Basically, you’ll need to go to the huge gate that leads to the Harbinger’s Seclude area. Again, do not enter the gate. Instead, head to the right side where you’ll find a series of platforms. Make your way on top of the cliff and you’ll find the third one there.
Harbinger’s Seclude – Right
The last two are located inside the massive hall in the Harbinger’s Seclude area. After entering the room, you need to head to your right where you’ll find a blueish chamber with a bunch of taken enemies. At the end of the chamber, you’ll find your fourth Atlas Skew.
Harbinger’s Seclude – Left Edge
From the same location, make your way to the far left side of the hall, and drop down and make your way to where the Ahamkara bones (do not enter the portal in the cave – instead head right) are located. This last one can be found there.
Visit the H.E.L.M. once more to get to the next step.
The Hollowed Coronation
Step 1: Get the Quest
Get this exotic quest by visiting the H.E.L.M. After you’ve got the exotic quest, visit Mara Sov in her chamber.
Step 2: Collect Atlas Skews in the Confluence
This time you need to collect Atlas Skews in the Confluence, Dreaming City. This place is located on the south of the Strand way past the Gardens of Esilia. Follow the path and you’ll find a bunch of Taken combatants, Eliminate them, and at the end, you’ll find a Portal. Go through it and this will lead you to the Confluence.
- The first Atlas Skew is right in front of you as you enter the portal.
- Make your way to the room with a giant three with green light. The second Atlas Skew is underneath the tree.
- Follow the path and enter the main hall where you’ll find three doorways on your left, right, and ahead. First, go through the left door and you’ll find the third Atlas Skew beside a giant crystal.
- Return to the main hall and make your way through the right door and you’ll find the fourth Atlas Skew in front of the Taken infested portal.
- The fifth Atlas Skew can be found in the last middle doorway entrance. Follow the path and it’ll lead you towards the last Atlas Skew. Check out the gallery below:

Step 5: Visit Queen Mara Sov
Pretty straightforward. Visit Queen Mara in her chamber.
Step 6: Parallax Trajectory and Rifle Kills
For this step, you need to collect a total of 100 Parallax Trajectory and 100% Rifle kills (Assault, Scout, Sniper, Fusion Rifles, etc). For 100 Parallax Trajectory, you can hop into the Crucible, Gambit matches where you’ll get Parallax Trajectory. Or you can complete the Astral Alignment activity as well.

- Defeat Combatants with Super: 20
Step 8: Complete Strikes
Step 8 requires you to complete the following three strikes. Simply select them from the Planet’s director map and complete them. After defeating the final boss, you’ll get rewarded with the Strand of Nobility.
- Lake of Shadows (EDZ)
- Disgraced (Cosmodrome)
- The Glassway (Europa)
Step 9: Visit Queen Mara (again)
Visit Queen Mara Sov from the H.E.L.M. portal and claim the Noble Seal to get to the next step.
Step 10 and 11: ‘A Hollowed Coronation’ mission
After getting the Noble Seal, you’ll need to complete ‘A Hollowed Coronation’ mission. Launch the mission from the H.E.L.M. director map, go through the portal, and claim Ager’s Scepter exotic trace rifle.
After claiming it, the next step will be to defeat Kelgorath, Risen of Bones. For this, you’ll need to destroy a bunch of huge glowing rocks on the right side of the room using Ager’s Scepter. After that, simply defeat the boss and the ads and you’ll get to the next and the final step.
Step 12: Visit Mara Sov
After completing the mission, visit Mara Sov one last time in her chamber. There, you’ll get a very touching (and a very goosebumpy) cutscene that continues the story of Mara and Uldren.
