Destiny 2 Is Getting A Week-Long Sword Event

Destiny 2 is adding a week-long sword event starting September 3, where Heavy swords will have regenerating ammo in various activities.

Following the launch of the Episode Echoes Act 3, Bungie has announced a special event in Destiny 2 that will certainly excite sword enthusiasts. Starting on September 3, players will experience a unique twist in the game.

For an entire week, all swords equipped in the Heavy Ammo slot will regenerate ammo continuously. This means players can use their swords with almost limitless power, slicing through enemies without the usual worry of running out of heavy ammo.

Destiny 2 Heavy Sword Event Detailed

In the weekly blog post, This Week In Destiny, Bungie has shared new details about the Heavy Sword event coming to Destiny 2. “Starting September 3, all Swords in the Heavy Ammo slot will regenerate ammo for a whole week, that is, until reset time on September 10,” the blog post reads.

However, to maintain balance, this event won’t apply to “raids or competitive game modes.” Instead, the Heavy Sword event will be available in the following activities:

  • Seasonal activities
  • Strikes
  • Nightfalls
  • Gambit
  • Crucible: Relic mode
  • Lost Sectors (Legend and Master)

Bungie has also announced that there will be four Seasonal challenges focused on getting sword kills within certain activities.

Destiny 2 is in full swing with Episode Echoes Act 3, which launched this week. This new act continues the Maya Sundaresh storyline. Alongside this, players can now get their hands on two new legendary weapons, Speleologist (Solar Machine Gun) and Chronophage (Void Trace Rifle).
