How to Unlock Blue Steel Shader in Destiny 2?
To unlock the new Blue Steel shader, you need to complete one of the Where is Archie quests in Destiny 2. After completing the quest, claim the triumph, “Where In The System Is Archie?” and you will unlock the Blue Steel shader in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2: Where in the Tower Is Archie?
The quest starts in the Tower Annex, right outside the Ada-1 room, where you would normally find Archie. You will have to visit a total of four locations to find clues and track down Archie in the Tower.
Head over there and you’ll see glowing green paw prints with a text prompt that says, “Investigate Paw Prints.” After interacting, you’ll have to visit Ada-1 and she will give you a new quest called, “Where in the Tower Is Archie?” The quest description can be found below.
- “Archie heard about something called “ramen” and had to know what all the buzz was about.”
You will find the next clue in the Tower Bazaar where Ikora Rey is located. When entering the location from the Courtyard, you’ll see a spicy ramen shop to the right, head in and you’ll see Archie’s glowing paw prints inside.
- “Archie wanted to go pay his respects to a famous gunslinger.”
The next set of paw prints can be found at the Cayde-6’s memorial statue in the Tower Courtyard. If you’re not sure where the statue is, it’s located right next to the Ironwood Tree where you go to rank up your Guardian Ranks.
- “Archie took off past the security checkpoint to salute a feathered friend.”
Located near the Cayde-6’s original stop in the Tower Hangar or where you would find the Colonel. (Cayde-6’s chicken)
- “Archie’s last stop. He wandered into an open airduct in the hangar and might’ve gotten a little lost. A friendly security frame is keeping an eye on him.”
To proceed, head to the hidden lounge in the Hangar where you’ll encounter Archie. Once you locate him, a message will appear prompting you to “Offer Pawsitive Reinforcement.” This is the final stop before reporting back to Ada-1 to finish the quest line.
Here’s a video guide on how to find this location from Esoterickk:
- “Return to Ada-1 in the Annex of the Tower.”
After finding Archie, you need to visit Ada-1 in the Annex and she will give you an “Expired Ramen Coupon” and ten Trophies of Bravery currency as a reward. The description for the expired ramen coupon can be found below:
- “Archie found this under a chair in the Bazaar. Someone was probably angry they couldn’t use it. This item has no use and can be safely dismantled… though Archie might be sad.”
Destiny 2: Where in the Cosmodrome Is Archie?
In week 2, a new quest has been added to Destiny 2 to find Archie in the Cosmodrome. To start the quest, head back to the Tower Annex where Archie usually hangs out and look for the green glowing paw prints.
Investigate the paw prints and visit Ada-1 to receive the new questline. Ada-1 will give you the quest titled, “Where In The Cosmodrome Is Archie?”
- “Visit Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome to ask about Archie’s whereabouts.”
For the next step, you need to pay a visit to Shaw Han at the Cosmodrome. To do so, just select The Steppes landing zone from your Director.
The first set of clues can be found at the entrance of the well-known loot cave located in Skywatch. Fast travel to the Skywatch landing zone and head to the loot cave entrance where you’ll see the green glowing paws. Investigate to progress the quest.
- “Archie heard rumors about a ‘”‘cave full of loot.'”
To proceed with the quest, you can find the second set of clues at the Terrestrial Complex. Look for the terminal where you re-established communication with lost colonies and investigate the prints to make progress. Again, make sure you investigate the prints to progress the quest.
- “Archie wanted to scope out the complex where we held off the Hive and re-established communication with lost colonies across the system.”
The fourth set is located outside the Rasputin bunker which you would enter in the Fallen S.A.B.E.R. strike.
- “Archie heard about a place where freshly-risen Guardians used to sneak past danger to hang out in front of an old bunker door beyond the Shores.”
For the fifth and final set of clues, fast-travel to The Steppes and head to Dock 13. There, you will need to defeat a boss named Reaver Vandal to clear the room. Upon defeating the boss and clearing the room, the blue energy barrier around Archie will disappear and you’ll be able to offer Pawsitive Reinforcement.
- “Archie’s last stop. He wanted to find a ship of his own to take back to the Last City.”
Visit Ada-1 in the Tower Annex again to complete the quest. She will offer you a Spinfoil Hat as a reward.
- “Archie found this while poking through the offices of the Lunar Complex. Whoever it belonged to would probably be saying ‘”‘I was right!'”‘ right now. This item has no use and can be safely dismantled… though Archie might be sad.”
Destiny 2: Where in the EDZ Is Archie?
Similar to the Cosmodrome quest, you should make your way to the Tower Annex and interact with the glowing green paw prints of Archie. These paw prints are usually found in Archie’s usual location.
After investigating the prints, visit Ada-1 and she will hand you the quest called “Where in the EDZ Is Archie?”.
For this step, you need to pay a visit to Deverim Kay in the Troastland, EDZ. From your Destinations, select the Troastland, EDZ landing zone. After spawning in, you’ll see a big church-like building. Deverim Kay will be waiting for you at the top.
- “Visit Devrim Kay in the EDZ to ask about Archie’s whereabouts.”
- “Archie heard about some feathers behind a fireplace. He’s hoping to find a glowing bird.”
This clue is located in the same area – Troastland. It’s in the building where you would go through a fireplace in the Harbinger exotic mission. Once inside the building, head to the first floor and keep an eye out for paw prints in front of a fireplace. Investigate the paw prints to progress the quest.
- “Archie heard Guardians have picked up a chill new hobby called ‘fishing’ and went to check it out.”
The next clue is pretty straightforward. Open your map, and you’ll see a Fishing Pond event in the Outskirts, right next to the Defiant Battlegrounds: EDZ node. Make your way to this fishing pond and you’ll find Archie’s glowing paw prints nearby. Investigate to progress the quest.
- “Archie heard about a ‘ship full of tanks and space rhinos’ and decided to go take a look.”
For this clue, you will need to fast travel to the Sunken Isles landing zone located at the top left of the EDZ map. Once you spawn in, head towards the giant Cabal ship right in front of you. Clear out the Cabal enemies guarding the front entrance, and you will find Archie’s paw prints in that area.
Investigate the paw prints to progress the quest.
- “Archie’s last stop. He heard some Guardians talking about ‘the place where we reclaimed the Light’ and some cool floating rocks there.”
For the last clue, you will need to fast travel to The Sludge. After you spawn in, make your way to the cave-like entrance where you would normally go when entering the Dark Forest. At the end, you’ll find a Jammer. Disable the jammer and it will spawn a Taken portal in front of you.
Enter the portal, and you’ll find a bunch of enemies with two more jammers. Clear the area and disable the two Jammers. Disabling the jammers will spawn another Taken portal at the end of the area.
Again, enter the portal and it will lead you to the next location. In this area, you will have to disable three jammers. However, you should be aware that there will be a bunch of enemies in each location, and a boss will be waiting for you at the final location.
So, it would be best to have a well-rounded loadout, something like a Witherhoard grenade launcher, a reliable submachine gun or hand cannon such as Ikelos SMG or Zaouli’s Bane, and a Rocket Launcher.
Clear the area and deactivate the three jammers. It will spawn another Taken portal that will lead you to the final boss fight.
To successfully complete the mission, you need to enter this portal and spawn in the last arena.
Once there, you must focus on damaging the Cabal boss until it enters the immune phase. At this point, you will have to disable three jammers, which are located in the left, middle, and right of the area.
Please be aware that there will be two yellow-bar Psions waiting for you on the left and right jammers. After you have disabled all three jammers, the boss’s immune shield will disappear, and you’ll be able to damage the boss.
Once you have defeated the boss, the barrier around Archie will vanish, and you’ll be able to offer Pawsitive Reinforcement.
- “Return to Ada-1 in the Annex of the Tower.”
After defeating the boss, and offering Archie a Pawsitive Reinforcement, head back to Ada-1 in the Tower Annex, where you will get Deveim’s Favourite Mug and ten Trophy of Bravery as a reward.
Destiny 2: Where on the Moon is Archie?
To begin the quest, head to the Annex landing zone in the Tower and look for Archie’s usual spot outside Ada-1’s room. Instead of finding Archie, you’ll see his glowing green paws. Interact with the paws to start a new quest. Then, visit Ada-1 to receive the quest “Where on the Moon Is Archie?”
- “Visit Eris Morn on the Moon to ask about Archie’s whereabouts.”
Pretty straightforward, visit Eris Morn in the Sanctuary on the Moon to progress the quest.
- “Archie was hoping to send supplies to his friends across the system using the accelerator. Too bad it’s broken.”
The first clue can be found in the Archer’s Line area. Head over and you’ll notice a giant accelerator. You’ll find a set of glowing green paws in the middle where the accelerator is broken. Interact to progress the quest.
- “Archie wanted to see the temple where Guardians famously ‘woke the Hive’!”
For this clue, you need to head to the Anchor or Light and make your way to the Temple of Crota. Enter the giant gate and at the far end of the room, you’ll see a yellow bar Wizard, next to the set of paw prints. Defeat the Wizard and interact with the paw prints to progress the quest.
- “Archie heard about a place where Guardians took a plunge to defeat a Hive prince. Then some Witches started performing a ritual.”
Head over to the Hellmouth and you’ll find the next set of missing paws next to a Hive plate with a Hive portal in front of it.
- “Archie’s last stop. He decided to ignore Eris’s warnings and go find out what was so special about a lunar Pyramid.”
For the last set of clues, you need to fast travel to Sorrow’s Harbor and make your way towards the starting area of Pit of Heresy dungeon. From there, head left and follow the path until you reach the Lunar Pyramid ship.
Make your way towards the end arena and you’ll see Archie standing on a big rock. Offer Pawsitive Reinforcement to progress the quest.
Here’s a video guide on how to get to the Lunar Pyramid in Destiny 2.
- Return to Ada-1 in the Annex of the Tower.
- A Cool Rock: “Archie found this sitting next to a Wizard’s crown while exploring around the Hellmouth. He thought it was cool. This item has no use and can be safely dismantled… though Archie might be sad.”
Visit Ada-1 again and she will give you a “A Cool Rock” along with ten Trophy of Bravery currency as a reward.
Destiny 2: Where in the Dreaming City Is Archie?
To begin the quest, head to the Annex landing zone in the Tower and look for Archie’s usual spot outside Ada-1’s room. Instead of finding Archie, you’ll see his glowing green paws. Interact with the paws to start a new quest. Then, visit Ada-1 to receive the quest “Where in the Dreaming City Is Archie?”
“Visit Petra Venj in the Dreaming City to ask about Archie’s whereabouts.”
To progress the quest, you can start by selecting the Divalian Mists landing zone in the Dreaming City from your Destinations map. After spawning in, head over to Peta Venj, who can be found in The Strand this week.
- “Archie wanted to check out the Blind Well… but Guardians were fighting something scary, so he decided to wait outside the door.”
Head to the entrance of the Blind Well from the Divalian Mists landing zone. Look for the green glowing pawprints at the gates and interact with them to progress the quest.
- “Archie heard about some mysterious bones that like to barter and, naturally, felt compelled to check them out.”
To progress the quest, head to the hall where the Huginn and Muninn Ahamkara skulls are located. Look for Archie’s green glowing paws in the middle, in front of the tall Awoken statue, and investigate the pawprints to proceed.
There are several ways to get to this location, here’s a quick video guide on how to reach this room:
- “Archie felt like someone was playing a trick on him! He kept hearing the sound of a cat’s purring permeating the Mists.”
To find the next set of clues, start at the Divalian Mists spawn and head toward Rheasilvia. Before entering the tunnel that leads you to Rheasilvia, look for a cliff to the left and drop down to the location where you would typically find a cat in Forksan. The next set of clues will be located at the end of the cave in this area.
Investigate to progress the quest.
- “Archie’s last stop. He was hoping to say hello to the queen if she was around.”
Again, from Divalian Mists spawn, head to the Spine of Keres area and enter the giant tower where you’d enter the portal to Queen Mara’s throne world. However, you’ll notice that the main entrance to the tower is blocked by a Taken barrier. To remove this barrier, you’ll need to defeat a yellow-bar Taken Ogre boss who’ll be waiting for you right outside the gate.
Defeat the boss and it’ll drop an item called “Offering the Oracle”. Enter the tower, make your way to the top, and “Present Offering”. It’ll open the portal once again, enter it, and you’ll fast-travel to Mara’s throne world.
Right next to Queen Mara’s throne, you’ll see Archie standing. Offer Pawsitive Reinforcement to progress the quest.
- “Return to Ada-1 in the Annex of the Tower.”
- Ahamkara Bone: “Archie picked this up in the Dreaming City—or at least what looked like the Dreaming City. Some weird stuff happened afterward, but Archie has just been gnawing on it since. This item has no use and can be safely dismantled… though Archie might be sad.”
After that, simply head back to Ada-1 in the Tower Annex to complete the quest. She’ll give you an Ahamkara Bone and 10 Trophy of Bravery as rewards.
Destiny 2: Where in Neomuna Is Archie?
To start the quest, head over to the Tower Annex and investigate the green paw prints outside the Ada-1 room. After investigating, visit Ada-1 and she will hand you a new quest called “Where in Neomuna Is Archie?”
- Visit Nimbus on Neomuna to ask about Archie’s whereabouts.
The next step is to visit Cloudstrider Nimbus on Neomuna.
- Archie stopped by Nimbus’s post hoping to snag an action figure.
After visiting Nimbus, the next step requires you to locate the first set of clues – which are located right below where Nimbus is located, inside the room where you store action figure collectibles. Interact to progress the quest.
- Archie wanted to get caught up on everything we know about the Veil.
This one is pretty straightforward. As the description suggests, this is located right at the gates of the Veil Containment area in the Ikralla Complex. Beware that there will be a Tormentor waiting for you at the gate. Defeat the Tormentor, clear out the area, and interact with the paw prints to progress the quest.
If you don’t know how to get there, worry not! We will link a video guide on how to get to the Veil area below.
- Archie wanted to check out the views from where Guardians mastered Strand.
Next, fast travel to Liming Harbor, and from there make your way to Maya’s Retreat, where you mastered the Strand subclass. Clear out the enemies and interact with the paw prints to progress the quest.
- Archie’s last stop. Archie wanted to try to win a prize for you.
For the final stop, fast travel back to Liming Harbor, but this time, make your way to the Thrillerdome Lost Sector. Clear out the area, and Archie will be waiting at the end, outside the Portal. Offer Pawsitive Reinforcement to progress the quest.
- Return to Ada-1 in the Annex of the Tower.
Visit Ada-1 and she will give you the rewards and the quest will be completed
