‘Xbox Series X’ Will Have A Dedicated Audio Chip, According To Ninja Theory Devs

It’s no wonder that Microsoft’s Xbox Series X is dominating the next-gen consoles as of right now since we there’s no news on Sony’s next-gen console reveal – PlayStation 5. Microsoft revealed the complete specifications of XSX last month and we have to admit, it crosses every high-end gaming PCs. Today, we have some more details on the tech that is used inside XSX.

Xbox Series X to Feature a Dedicated Audio Chip

According to Daniele Galante (senior sound designer at Ninja Theory), XSX will have a new chip for the audio of the console. This means that the sound quality on Series X will be significantly higher than the last-gen console. “It’s extremely exciting,” Galante said. “We’re going to have a dedicated chip to work with audio, which means we finally won’t have to fight with programmers and artists for memory and CPU power.”

“We take for granted that graphics are powered by their own video cards. But in audio, we haven’t had anything like that. Now we have some power dedicated to us,” audio lead David Garcia added.

Recently, there have been some rumors about Microsoft revealing yet another brand-new next-gen Xbox console called Xbox Series S, which has also been known for Project Lockhart. Rumor has it that this console will be around $300 USD and will be a digital-only console.

As for the graphics capability of Series X, it’s no denying that Xbox Series X could be the most powerful console we’ll see this generation. But, for that, we’ll have to wait for PlayStation 5 reveal.

Xbox Series X will be out holidays 2020.
