It looks like Destiny 2’s sixth subclass may have been leaked, ahead of the upcoming Destiny 2 Showcase.

Bungie has officially announced a Destiny 2 Showcase where it will officially reveal the next big expansion in Destiny 2 – The Final Shape. The Final Shape is set to bring conclude Destiny’s long-running Light and Darkness saga in February 2024.

Ever since the new Strand subclass was introduced in the Lightfall expansion, players have been curious if Bungie would add a third Darkness subclass for the Final Shape expansion, and it looks like we might have some confirmations on that front.

Warning: Potential spoilers ahead.

This comes from a Reddit post on the Destiny2Leaks subreddit, where a user posted a link to possibly in-development footage showcasing a Transmat effect with the Guardian spawning in the H.E.L.M.

The interesting part of this clip is the abilities, which are visible for a brief moment. There seems to be a new Super icon with the overall red subclass color scheme, which is something we haven’t seen in Destiny 2 before. You can check out the clip below.

The HUD text and animations in the leak seem genuine. However, it’s important to remember that leaks may not always be accurate, so it’s best to be cautious and take everything with a grain of salt. It could potentially be a well-crafted project by a dedicated fan rather than official information.

If this turns out to be true, it wouldn’t be the first time a new subclass was accidentally revealed through early footage. Last year, a Bungie developer shared a similar ability showcase on their ArtStation, which briefly showed a green subclass that we now know as Strand.

Destiny 2 Showcase is scheduled for August 22, 2023, at 9 AM Pacific. Fans can watch this showcase on Destiny 2’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
