A new leak suggests PUBG: Black Budget is still on track for a 2025 release, with external playtests happening soon.
For months, rumors have been floating around about PUBG: Black Budget, a new extraction-based shooter set in the PUBG universe. Krafton has been working on expanding PUBG beyond battle royale, and this mysterious project is part of that effort.
Earlier reports revealed that PUBG: Black Budget would feature a 2.5×2.5 km map with a mix of urban environments and underground areas. The game would have a dynamic shrinking zone, human NPCs, and even roaming creatures.
While official details are still under wraps, a new leak has just dropped, revealing information about its release timeline and system requirements. The latest leak comes from a well-known dataminer, and if it’s accurate, PUBG: Black Budget is still planned for a 2025 launch.
Not only that, but it looks like external playtests are happening very soon, meaning we could be closer to seeing the game in action than expected.
New Leaked Information on PUBG: Black Budget
The new details were shared by X0X_LEAK, a leaker and dataminer who posted an update on X (Twitter). According to the post, PUBG: Black Budget is still targeting a release later this year, despite previous reports about delays. Even more interesting, external playtests are reportedly happening this month, giving select players an early look at the game.
Along with the playtest info, the leak also gives us a clearer idea of what to expect from the game itself. It’s described as a first-person PvPvE tactical extraction shooter set in an open world.
“The new game within the PUBG universe, currently named Project ‘Black Budget’, is still targeting a release later this year,” the post reads. “It’s also set to be Playtested externally later this month. Black Budget is a first-person PvPvE tactical extraction shooter in an open world.”
The leak also includes minimum PC requirements, giving us a rough idea of what kind of hardware will be needed to run the game. According to the leak, these are the specs:
- CPU: Intel i5 12th Gen or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- RAM: 16GB
- GPU: RTX 3060
Of course, it’s important to remember that this is all leaked information and not officially confirmed by Krafton. Plans could change, specs might be adjusted, and the release window isn’t set in stone. Until we hear directly from the developers, it’s best to take everything with a grain of salt.
