In the ever-evolving world of Destiny 2, where Guardians are constantly battling and defeating the strongest beings and unraveling the mysteries of the universe, a recent unexpected bug has fans divided.

A game-breaking weapon crafting glitch has been discovered, one that not only grants exotic perks to legendary weapons but also allows players to create absurdly powerful weapons that can instantly melt bosses, leading to an instant and awe-inspiring power boost for players.

While some Guardians are reveling in this newfound power, others are calling for its swift elimination. The glitch, which has taken the Destiny 2 community by storm, has started a bit of debate among fans, with one side championing it as a breath of fresh air, while the other side argues that this glitch undermines the balanced gameplay in both PvP and PvE aspects of the game.

After the exploit was widely shared among the Destiny 2 community, Bungie issued an official statement encouraging players to enjoy the exploit while it worked on potential fixes for this bug.

Destiny 2 Players Divided Over Game-Breaking Glitch

Reactions within the Destiny 2 community have been as diverse as the Guardians themselves. On the front page of the DestinyTheGame subreddit, one user wrote, “This is the most fun I’ve had in Destiny in ages. I wouldn’t want to see the craft-your-own-exotic weekend go on much longer but man, it’s so fun seeing the crazy powerful combinations people have come up with.”

Another user replied, “I haven’t had this much fun since 12-person strikes/raids.” While these are some of the comments in favor of the glitch, there are dozens of comments arguing how this exploit ruins the game on different levels.

“This is one of the worst things they could’ve ever let continue, it completely invalidates any singular achievement a person or group of people have earned in this game,” one user said. “Cheating your way to victory is not something you should ever feel good about.”

And, that’s just on the developer-supported subreddit. There are several posts on the official Bungie Forums asking the developer to issue bans and restrictions to anyone who uses this exploit in the game.

“Anybody who goes into Crucible with a glitched crafted weapon should be penalized in some way,” one player wrote on the Bungie Forums. Another person said they waited for the Adept version of Igneous Hammer (Trials of Osiris weapon) all season but now that it’s here, the game is beyond broken, especially the Trials of Osiris mode.

Bungie has confirmed that the Igneous Hammer hand cannon “will come back to Trials ASAP.”

There’s been a lot of discussion about potential fixes for this bug, and if there’s going to be yet another server rollback for the game. However, a rollback seems unlikely since we don’t actually know exactly when this exploit was first added to the game — could be this week, this season, Lightfall, or all the way back when weapon crafting was introduced.
