Destiny 2 players can now claim six free god roll weapons as compensation for a bug affecting RNG perk drops.
If you’ve been frustrated with chasing that perfect 5/5 god roll weapon in Destiny 2, you’re not alone. Recently, players uncovered a weird bug that caused certain perk combinations to be more rare then others, further fueling the perk weighting conspiracy.
After a community-driven investigation and detailed feedback, Bungie acknowledged the problem and rolled out a fix in the recent 8.1.0.4 update. To make up for the frustration caused by this bug, Bungie is offering a generous reward: six curated god roll weapons, completely free.
These weapons are available starting today, November 19, 2024, and you can claim them directly from Banshee-44 in the Tower.
Get These Six Free God Roll Weapons In Destiny 2 Right Now
Earlier this month, Bungie announced that it would be giving away a “small collection of weapons” with curated perk rolls. “Our goal is to get you some perk combinations that were a bit harder to earn due to the bug,” said Bungie in a post on X (Twitter).
These six weapons include the Rose hand cannon, Multimach CCX submachine gun, Indebted Kindness sidearm, Compass Rose shotgun, Hothead (Adept) rocket launcher, and VS Chill Inhibitor grenade launcher.
To claim your free god roll weapons, head to the Tower Courtyard. After spawning in, make your way to Banshee-44, located right next to Master Rahool. Once there, you’ll find all six curated weapons ready for you to grab. It’s a quick and easy process, so don’t miss out!
These weapons are available in the game starting today at the weekly reset. While there is no end date yet for picking up these weapons, Bungie is encouraging players to pick these up “at your earliest convenience.”

As for the cost of claiming these weapons, the developer has confirmed that these will be completely free, meaning no material or currency is required. “No glimmer or material cost [required],” said Bungie’s community lead, Dylan Gafner. “Intended to be freebies. Only weapons that need anything are dungeon-related – just complete the dungeon and you can pick ’em up.”
That’s not all. From now until December 3, the Vesper’s Host dungeon will also offer double loot drops.
