Following the Guardian Games update earlier this week, many fans discovered clues that suggest the return of long-awaited fan-favorite weapons from Season of the Forge with the Into the Light update.
Season of the Wish, the last-ever season in Destiny 2, went live last year—and while the seasonal story may have been concluded, there’s still a lot happening in-game, thanks to the new major update released this week.

After the Guardian Games update was released on Tuesday, fans took to TodayInDestiny, a third-party website that showcases the Eververse calendar and other season-related content, and noticed that the calendar was updated with some new items returning in the future.
The calendar for the rest of the season will bring back many old favorites and introduce some new items as well. However, what has really caught the attention of many players are the two weapon ornaments – namely, Itsy-Bitsy Spider and Great White – for The Recluse submachine gun and the Hammerhead heavy machine gun, respectively.
According to TID, these can be obtained with Bright Dust, an earnable in-game currency that players can use to purchase items from the Eververse store.
Are the Black Armory Weapons Finally Returning in Destiny 2?
Considering the Eververse calendar is accurate and the weapon ornaments for Recluse and Hammerhead are returning at some point before The Final Shap expansion, it’s possible that we may see these sunset weapons reissued with the upcoming two-month Into the Light content update in April 2024, which will be free for everyone.
Here’s the list of all the weapon ornaments currently featured in TodayInDestiny’s Eververse calendar:
- Calus Mini-Tool: Defenseless, To Be Armed
- Last Man Standing: Ozymandias
- Recluse: Itsy-Bitsy Spider
- Imperial Decree: Unhearing, To Be Told
- Recluse: Necrosis
- Hammerhead: Great White
- Drang (Baroque): Alone, To Be Joined
- Beloved: Unloved, To Be Cherished
- Loaded Question: Powerful Statement
- Fixed Odds: Unseeing, To Be Shown
Both Recluse and Hammerhead are currently sunset, meaning players can’t essentially use them in higher-end activities like raids, or dungeons, due to the weapon’s power being fixed. Fans argue that there’s no point in selling ornaments for sunset weapons, which is why many believe that these weapons are likely to return at some point in the future.
In addition, Bungie has also added a new exotic ornament called Gilded Cage for the Whisper of the Worm sniper rifle. This has also led to speculation that Bungie might be bringing back The Whisper exotic mission, something fans have been requesting for years. Of course, these are still rumors and nothing is concrete at this point. So, we suggest taking everything with a grain of salt.
While we don’t have an official release date for Destiny 2: Into the Light update, there have been rumors that the update will go live on April 9, 2024. This is according to an activity card on PlayStation 5 that’s expiring on April 9th, as well as Bungie releasing a new emblem for the Cayde-6 Funko Pop! on the same day.
In other news, there are also rumors of a Destiny 2 and Ghostbusters crossover happening, which is interesting, to say the least.
