A new Destiny 2 leak has revealed stunning Trials of Osiris and Stasis-themed armor sets.
Destiny 2 has been through a rollercoaster year. Once hailed as one of the most engaging multiplayer games, it has faced declining player numbers in recent months. While the recent Dawning 2024 event gave fans something to grind for, it wasn’t enough to reverse the overall trend that started after the conclusion of the Light and Darkness saga in The Final Shape.
Even Trials of Osiris, Destiny 2’s pinnacle PvP mode, hasn’t been immune to these struggles and is facing a lower player population, with fans asking for better exclusive rewards for this mode and new armor. The good news is that Bungie’s global community lead, Dylan Gafner, just teased a Trials of Osiris update coming in Episode Heresy.
Now, a new leak has surfaced that could reignite excitement. Two unreleased armor sets, including one reportedly designed for Trials of Osiris and another with a long-awaited Stasis theme, have appeared online.
Here’s everything we know so far.
Destiny 2 New Armor Sets Leak
The leaked information comes from Red Hot CG, a Chinese outsourcing company specializing in design work for games, TV, and films. Its official ArtStation profile showcased two new armor sets for Destiny 2. The artwork was uploaded on the profile two weeks ago on December 11, 2024.
What we’re looking at here are two sets of unfinished 3D models – basically, the raw armor designs before any fancy textures, shading, or effects get applied. Both sets rock a sleek white base, which is pretty standard for work-in-progress models.
The first armor set is for Titan and appears to be Anubis-themed. It has this cool sci-fi warrior vibe with those pointed ear-like bits on the helmet and these neat little cyan-blue spots scattered around, which are likely to be re-shaded when the proper shaders are applied. This fits the overall Trials of Osiris theme in Destiny 2.
The second armor set is for Warlock and clearly draws inspiration from Stasis with these dramatic crystal-like spikes jutting out from the shoulders and helmet. This armor also has a Stasis staff on its back.
As of right now, it’s unclear when these armor sets will be added to the game. Check out the Stasis-themed armor below.
Red Hot CG has worked with Bungie on several armor designs, including sets for major raids like Crota’s End and Root of Nightmares. It also contributed to seasonal armor and more recently, the Dawning 2024 event armor.
As for what’s next for Destiny 2, Episode Revenant Act 3 kicks off next week on January 7, 2025. Players can expect an exotic mission, Kell’s Fall, and the new Slayer’s Fang shotgun. After that, Episode Heresy launches on February 4, 2025, bringing the Light and Darkness saga to a close and setting the stage for a new multi-year story arc, starting with Codename Frontiers in the summer. In other Bungie-related news, it appears two more executives have quietly exited the company as teams transition to Sony PlayStation as part of the deeper Bungie-Sony integration.
