Bungie has hired a former Warner Bros. Discovery executive to lead the expansion of the Destiny franchise into film, and television.

Gabriel VanHuss is now the Head of Linear Media for the Destiny IP at Bungie. VanHuss will lead the charge in bringing Destiny to other mediums, including TV, film, books, comics, and more.

The move is part of Bungie’s strategy to expand the Destiny universe beyond just the gaming world and bring in new fans and audiences for the IP. VanHuss announced this new position on his LinkedIn profile earlier this week.

This isn’t the first time Bungie has hired someone with a vast background in animation and media. Last year, the Destiny developer hired Derick Tsai, as a Head of Destiny Transmedia projects. However, Tsai departed the company a year later in March 2023.
