Yesterday, some new images surfaced online showcasing what seems to be some of the new weapon models for Destiny 2’s upcoming expansion, The Final Shape.

This artwork comes from Hailin Si, a former Senior Texture Artist at PlayStation Malaysia, who shared some new art they created for Bungie‘s Destiny 2 while working at PlayStation Studios.

The artwork in question unveils what appears to be a sneak peek at potential new weapons and ornaments, hinting at what could be part of the upcoming The Final Shape expansion.

Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotics Leaked?

There are three different weapon models (now deleted), two of which seem to be exotic ornaments for existing weapons in Destiny 2, and one an entirely new exotic weapon. Take a look:

As we can see, the first weapon model is a Deep Stone Crypt-themed exotic ornament for Parasite, an Exotic Grenade Launcher, and the second model is a Dreaming City-themed ornament for Forerunner, Exotic Sidearm.

The Artstation description for the Grenade Launcher and Sidearm art reads, “Grenade Launcher gun” and “Sidearm Ornament gun” respectively.

The third weapon, however, has ignited even more curiosity within the community. As mentioned on Artstation, it’s labeled as an “Exotic Pulse Rifle gun” instead of an ornament.

This shows what looks like a completely new and special Pulse Rifle in Destiny 2 and has made lots of fans think that these ornaments and weapons could possibly be part of the upcoming Final Shape expansion, expected to drop in June.

It is important to note that the weapon shown above may not be a brand-new addition to Destiny 2. In fact, it could very well be a mere decoration for an upcoming exotic weapon that has not yet been released.

It has been confirmed through the artwork’s descriptions on Artstation that the weapon models in question were created by PlayStation Studios. This is noteworthy, but not entirely unexpected, as Bungie has previously outsourced various aspects of its work, including weapons, armor, and other cosmetics in Destiny 2.

Additionally, it was announced that Krakter, a design studio that has helped with some of Sony’s biggest exclusives like God of War Ragnarok, and Horizon Forbidden West, is also working with Bungie on its new extraction shooter, Marathon.

While there is no official confirmation from Bungie, the studio behind Destiny 2, fans are connecting the dots and speculating that these leaked images could be a precursor to what awaits in The Final Shape expansion, or perhaps the Into The Light content update in April.
